Posted: 04 Mar 2021 10:13 PM PST It's bad enough Cryptic utilizes loot boxes, but unless they're gonna release actual loot box probability stats, stop "informing" us every time a ship is won for the purpose of trying to convince us that winning a ship is a likely possibility. It's very misleading compared to the actual probability of us actually winning a damn ship. It's one thing to financially extort us with loot boxes, but misleading us should be illegal, and at best is at least immoral. [link] [comments]
Star Trek Online = Instagram the game Posted: 05 Mar 2021 03:11 AM PST think about this. log onto STO, what do you see? Stuff you can't afford (lockbox ships) Female characters with massive chests Male characters with massively overdeveloped chests and obviously skipping leg day. now go to Instagram. IT'S THE SAME THING. [link] [comments]
How do you disable "Player selected Need for (Insert Item Name)" from filling your screen in TFOs!? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:10 AM PST Ever since the latest update which added the option for disabling Friend Log-on messages; in every TFO my screen is now filled with green messages saying that me and other players want/ have received an item, over and over again. I haven´t found any option in the notification settings that points to this. Any idea what to do? This is a real disimprovement. [link] [comments]
Cloak Bug Is Much Worse And Workarounds No Longer Fix It Posted: 05 Mar 2021 07:25 AM PST Some recent changes to cloak have made the cloak bug much worse. It happens much more frequently, and there is no longer a way to work around it. In the past, cloak would hang, but either rapidly tapping the bumper (if the power is mapped there) would release it, or using the ability wheel and holding the cloak power for five seconds would. Those no longer work, and the player gets stuck in cloak even if the power is in cooldown. When this happens, it is permanent until they log out and back in. I just had to log out and in 4 times in a single TFO. The frequency of the bug was about 50% per attempted use. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Mar 2021 04:58 PM PST Am I the only person that thinks the negotiations with the Vaadwaur on the Talaxian asteroid base could have been successful if it weren't constrained by the in-game dialogue options? I feel like I could have said "we'll talk to the Kobali about letting your people go, and will do everything in my power aside from attacking them". Also, part of me finds what the Kobali did as absolutely reprehensible, waiting for pods to fail just so they can convert the corpses. The out-of-game part of me wants both of them to just annihilate each other (cuz lets be honest, both the Kobali and Vaadwaur aren't good) and the in-game part of me wants to actually be able to sue for peace rather than be forced to spam spacebar. What do you think? [link] [comments]

So does the console version just suck? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 06:24 AM PST I just tried STO yesterday and was surprised by how janky the whole game is: lagging in menu, multiple ui input elements popping up at the same time, inconsistently voiced dialogue, janky animations. I don't have a pc, but should I just stop playing until I get one? The atmosphere is nice. The story seems interesting. But the gameplay as a whole feels like an early Xbox 360 game at best and a late Xbox Original game at worst. Edit: my apologies, I did not know the game was 11 years old! The issues I was experiencing are more understanding now. [link] [comments]
Klingon Recruit melee and ambush counters not tracking anymore on Xbox. Posted: 04 Mar 2021 05:38 PM PST The melee tracker is stuck at 137, and the ambush tracker is stuck at 48. I have done hundreds of melee kills and at least 20 more ambush trying to get it to go. I believe the progress stopped after crashing on afterlife yesterday. I missed that part of the memo. 🤦♂️ has anyone else has this issue, or found a workaround? I don't want to re-roll a new recruit. This one already has DPRM, SAD and all the meta traits. What happened to Phoenix prizes? Posted: 05 Mar 2021 09:18 AM PST I didn't use my Phoenix prize, when I obtained it from DS9. But now that I want to use it, DS9 is missing and I even went to that other place and there is no one to claim the prize. Did I overlook something? Did I pass a rank to make it unavailable? Notification Setting for Loot Rolls? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 05:25 PM PST Simple question: Does Cryptic need to add a Notification Setting for Loot Rolls? After this update, I'm going to say yes. [link] [comments]
Where is the option to disable "friend logged in"/"friend logged out" notification flybys? Posted: 04 Mar 2021 01:34 PM PST Today's patch notes said this was an option that can be disabled. I can't find it, though. [link] [comments] |
