I find playing as a Romulan is way more interesting than anything else. Posted: 06 May 2020 08:41 AM PDT Just got back into STO during the quarantine and play it regularly now. My main has been a Fed tactical Officer for years. So I decided to roll a Romulan just to experience the story, and holy crap. I should have done this a long time ago. There is something so compelling about starting off on a colony world that is then wiped out by the Tal Shiar. You get pressed into service by the resistance, who call themselves the Romulan Republic, and then spend the next several levels fighting for your people and trying to find a new home for them. Then on top of that, you have to choose which faction to ultimately support: the Federation or the Klingons. Wow. Talk about emotional investment. They could make a single player game out of the Romulan campaign alone. Or better yet, a tv show. It would be different and really good. On top of that, the warbirds just look badass. And so do the uniforms. I think I have found my new home. ☺️ [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 May 2020 08:18 PM PDT Every Admiral has one. Maybe not the fastest or the strongest, but one you have an emotional connection with. It's the ship you kick around in, in between missions. While my fleet Shepard class is a monster, I'm leaning toward an Excelsior these days. My Klingon has his fleet Mat'Ha Raptor that's been optimized to the nth degree, but his fleet T5U K't'inga is getting the most time as home. How about you and yours? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 May 2020 04:11 AM PDT so i have some questions about mudd's market, i'm tempted by the corrosive plasma weapon pack (although i'll wait for a sale because it is too expensive right now) and i wanted to know if: -you can claim it an infinite amount of time so you can equip all you ships with all corrosive plasma weapons -it will be mark XV on my lvl 65 character (if not what mark will it be) -is it worth it or do the weapons suck [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 08:08 PM PDT My son is now a teenager and has taken a liking to Discovery and Picard, so we recently decided to start playing STO together. I have an account I played from long ago and he started a new one so we could team up and play. HOWEVER, my son has run into the issue of not being able to send mail, trade, use the exchange, etc. I searched here and posters said 20 hours gets around this "gate," and another said 24 hours, and my son has surpassed those amounts of time and he's still stuck. I had him exchange dil for zen and buy something thinking that may get through it, but nope. I know it says to complete story missions but we only play together and I don't have the patience to endure the awful ground combat missions all over again, so I'm thinking of trying to get him into WOW instead. It's space fun or bust for us. If there's something I'm missing I would appreciate knowing! Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 12:40 PM PDT So I've been playing this game on and off for years and I've become level 65. I don't pay for anything but because of my level I have one of the best ships I can get with all the best gear. However whenever I enter missions now I always seem to get crushed in space combat. Pretty much the only thing that gets me through most missions is the "Nimbus Pirate Distress Call" which spawns high level support ships. Anyone else have this issue or any advice for me? Thanks. Lobi Store and Quantumtorpedo build Posted: 06 May 2020 02:15 AM PDT Hallo fellow Captains, I wondered if the Items from the Lobi Store are account unlocks or just unlocked for that specific character. I want to buy the Delphic Distortion Torpedo for a Quantumtorpedo build but im not sure if I want to spend that much Lobi on it. Being an Accountwide unlock would help me make a decision for buying it. What Quantumtorpedos would u use for a Torpedo build? I was thinking of Neutronic, Dark Matter Quantum Phase in the front, advanced Radiant in the back. And maybe putting the Delphic if I buy it. U have another advice? Greetings, ur Captain Gerhardt. And thanks for ur help in advance. [link] [comments]
Advanced Radiant Hypercharge Bug Posted: 05 May 2020 02:43 PM PDT So I've had this issue for a LONG time now and it's finally grown to the point of me creating a reddit account solely for the purpose of seeking help here. There's a bug that occurs with the Advanced Radiant Hypercharge ability with the Dual Heavy Cannons, whenever I activate it, it seems almost entirely random as to whether or not it will actually fire, or if it will simply lock up the weapon slot for the next 30 seconds (refusing to fire). I've tried multiple different theories and tests but have not found a consistent way to fire the Cannons. Scenario 1: https://gyazo.com/972d13a618382c77456764382c724fbb [activating the ARH ability then pressing Space to fire all weapons] --- You can see the Heavy Cannons in Slot 4 firing first followed almost immediately by Slot 1 (wing cannons). Results: ARH Weapon fires normally Scenario 2: https://gyazo.com/c86c0b8b3fa08860d61f47472e40158a [same as scenario 1] --- You can see the ARH ability show its firing window of 30 seconds in Slot 4 after the Slot 1 weapon fires and does not fire for the duration of its firing window. Results: ARH weapon refuses to fire Scenario 3: https://gyazo.com/1a4d7b06530587c73ef985abe6743d73 [ARH activates and manually] --- The ARH ability activates and I manually fire slot 1 followed by Slot 4 (the radiant cannons) and the rest of the weapons using manual fire. Results: ARH Weapon fires normally P.S. - I found a similar post in a different reddit over 3 years ago with the exact same problem and the answers given there had no affect. (https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/comments/4ji8ai/advanced_radiant_hypercharge/ ) My power systems are constantly set to max out Weapons and consistently have 125/100 power. [link] [comments]

Difference between playing PC and Xbox Posted: 06 May 2020 03:12 AM PDT Heyo. I've only been playing on xbox one for a bit over a month now, but decided to try and play on PC: since I finally got my laptop in a comfortable spot. And with that in mind, I was curious if there is anything I should know that firmly separates console from PC, or should be handled differently with the community, equipment, ships...etc? Jem’hadar carrier hanger pets upgradeable? Posted: 05 May 2020 02:59 PM PDT Are the hanger pets that come with this shop upgradeable in some way? I noticed I couldn't upgrade them, but do better versions exist in game somewhere? [link] [comments]
Spire Warp Core W>A missing? Help! Posted: 05 May 2020 10:44 PM PDT Granted I've been out of it a while and I have the [AMP] spire warpcore with the W>A mod on my main who is Starfleet. I had decided since they planed on revisiting Klingon content I would dust off my old Orion and make her a canon build, of course I had not played one since launch so I had no clue as how to outfit a ship for the current content so I looked up a build for one with one of the event ships I had never bothered using before. I went looking for the warpcore listed on the chart here https://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/6a04f7a508c670def8bac41283d2b784 but its no longer in the spire store? I know it use to be because I have it on my main but the only one I can find with the W mod on it is W>E which granted is something but not what I was looking for. Was it removed from the store? and if so what is current replacement? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 08:50 PM PDT I played sto a lot about 3-4...ish years ago on Xbox. I fell off after a while because I stopped playing Xbox games because of some connection issues with the WiFi on the console. Hadn't thought about sto in a long while. Was looking in my steam library at the games I had when I suddenly remembered sto. A quick download and I'm back. Fresh start sadly but that's okay. Look forward to seeing what all is new. Any big pointer or anything that's changed drastically that I may not be aware of would be a lovely surprise. But mostly just looking forward to getting my ship back to the way I liked it. surgical strikes buff peanut gallery Posted: 05 May 2020 07:18 PM PDT I was thinking that if surgical strikes effected all weapons but put a cooldown on all weapon abilities it would then be nice for people who do builds with mixed armaments. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2020 10:50 AM PDT Are they ever going to fix the dialogue decloaking your ship. I know this has been addressed many times but what's the story behind this...? [link] [comments] |
