    I just completed the Iconian War storyline on my main (TOS Federation Temporal Agent), and I enjoyed the finale bringing back how Starfleet is meant to explore the unknown, not wage endless war. And I found the fact that it was Captain Kagran who takes the position of saving the Iconians just amazing.

    And of course, the classic predestination paradox, which took Sela far too long to realize she was in.

    Does anyone who finished the Event and started using the Dot-7 drone kit module have any feedback on it yet? The stats look interesting, but I don't know if it would be worth using in a slot.

    New meta for DPS is DHCs?

    So I returned about 5 weeks ago after a 2-3 yr absence. In the process of learning about what has changed, I find out that BFAW is not the DPS meta any more. Now it is cannons and CSV/CRF.

    I have both Beam boats and Cannon ships. I've flown both. Beam boats have always been easy to keep on a target. But cannons? Cannons need front arc targets and because of this I am always engaging and then looping around to engage again. This seems to me like it would play hell with DPS?

    Unless the modern Cannon ships just sit or go very slowly and act like giant turrets or something? But wouldn't that mess with defense and cause more damage? Especially if the cannons are causing the most damage and therefore bringing a lot of aggro.

    So I must be missing something. Can someone elaborate on the current style?

    Game keeps crashing. Anyone else?

    So on like every 3rd or 4th random advanced TFO I do in a row the game just crashes when it's supposed to load me into the TFO. That shit started a few days ago and it's getting really annoying. Is it because of corona and cryptic lacking manpower for their servers and do other players have this problem too or is it a certain TFO that's just problematic right now?

    Praise for the most under appreciated missions

    For me, I hardly ever play A Step Between Stars anymore due to basically skipping the entire Dyson storyline. I went back recently and by God does it stand up. I don't think there's a single other mission with more choices and randomization. Between the differences in suits/defense options, the two ways of going around the second part of the station, and things I'm probably forgetting, I've never seen a mission since that replays so well.

    My brother-in-law is stuck at home with an old laptop, and I thought of STO as a fun, not-brutal-on-his-GPU co-op game we could play together.

    I last played 10 years ago, back when the Enterprise F design contest was being run. Given that this is probably a totally different game at this point, what should I do to get back into it? Is it actually OK for co-op, as I recall?

    Looking for some advice as a returning player

    So I played this game a ton on pc almost 5-6 years ago and then dropped off till the PS4 resurgence. Since then I have been touch and go with the game.

    Now with this massive break I got back into it but was kind of unsure what to focus on.

    I have some t2/t3 rep in Borg, Delta and one or 2 more but most of the rest are untouched.

    Currently my main char is maxed and is running a fleet phantom intel escort with a decent dps setup (at least used to be decent)

    Could someone suggest what reps to focus on, what new stuff to grind, etc.

    Help Installing STO

    Th problem occurs every time in the cryptic launcher screen. I try to download Star Trek Online, it reaches about 20% and then it fails, saying "Connection was idle for too long." My WiFi doesn't seem to have any problems, it downloads/loads everything else perfectly. I've tried using the US/EU proxies. I've tried running as administrator. I've tried through Steam, Arc and the Standalone launcher. I've been trying for months now, to download it so I can play STO again (I used to play on Xbox earlier). Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

    Man, they should have had a ship sale or zen sale during this real world outbreak. So many people are indoors playing this game, including me. I can honestly say I'd drop some $$$ during this time to get some new stuff.

    Stupid Question: How do I get/teleport to the Fleet Embassy?

    I am on New Romulus, I am at the "Embassy", but I cannot figure out how to get to the FLEET embassy.

    I recognize this is a total noob question, but I am having a bad time trying to find this info on Google or the wiki and am hoping someone can help me.

    I've been asked on many occasions to join a fleet whilst traveling around exploring and doing missions. Is there any benefit in joining a fleet?
