Video Footage of Warp record - Warp 139.98

Video Footage of Warp record - Warp 139.98

For maximum enjoyment, play "Manuel - Gas Gas Gas" on YouTube when you hit play and start the song 5 seconds in. ;)

I'm on a laptop on a plane pls no bully lack of editing

    W a r p 1 3 9 . 9 8

Side note: both the Adapted MACO and MACO impulse engines at (importantly) Epic Mk XV provide +31.9 sector space speed (the only engines to do this). The MACO ones also boost normal warp through an asynchronous warp field so I would recommend them, however, both affect Slipstream exactly the same and provide the same max speed at slipstream. Ty to u/MandoKnight for reminding me!

Edit: If you are using the Gamma warp core the above comment is redundant as the gamma warp core has a warp speed bonus that overrides either. Use whichever engine you like, there is no difference at all if you use the gamma warp core.

    Has Fleet Support been reworked?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:10 AM PST

I was flying the Alliance BC last night and activated Fleet Support, instead of spawning a Federation Command BC, it spawned an Alliance BC alongside a Federation Frigate, was using Superior Command Modulation, was wondering if this is unique to using the Alliance BC or weather it's regardless of ship used.

    Thanks in advance for reply

So.... Any chance of an Allied Fleet Service Headquarters in the future?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:37 AM PST

With the introduction of the Allied Fleet Service concept and the Khitomer class battlecruiser, I'm curious if a AFS HQ or starbase as some kind of social hub in the game isnt too far behind? I could see it as something like say one of the Babylon stations, located in neutral territory (Although from a map im kinda hard pressed to determine just what exactly IS neutral territory in any quadrant).

Another idea I think might be interesting is to make say Cardassia Prime a player hub, you can use the model and interiors from DS9 with minor modifications.

Wrong Energy flavor for reward of Seven's double rifles.

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:24 AM PST

It is now official that weapon energy type for the reward of Seven's double-fisted, short rifle in Measure of Morality, Part 1, is wrong. See recent Picard episode for proof.

Ship You Won't Fly (but would love to.)

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:55 AM PST

I find myself looking at ships like the Buran and loving how they look, but most of what of what I read about them is "theres better." Are there ships you find yourself unable to use, either because their stats are so subpar, or because there's no way they'd fit into to your play style?

Or hello, the other way up. What ships would you absolutely never use, despite them being superior, just because you don't like how it looks or feels?

Request: Alliance (A.F.S.) Logo as a "Logo" option we can have on various ships in ship tailor

The Alliance logo looks really cool - I hope this is not too big of a change to implement.

Some curious observations on the warp animations for the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 04:51 AM PST

I am playing a Post-TNG era Starfleet toon, and I have noticed that:

    1. The Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser (KAB) when warping in or out does not have the "spaghettification" effect that is usually applied for most all ships commanded by this faction (exceptions being Kelvin Timeline ships and a few others). Though the sound effects used are faction accurate.
    2. The KAB, so far that I have tried, does not seem to suffer the problem of warp out animations often not playing when exiting TFOs and other space combat zones.

Just wondering if others have noticed the same on their own toons (same faction or otherwise)? Personally, I consider these to be improvements.

Question on how long after discovery came out did the new episodes come out

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:38 AM PST

Hi Everyone, so I was thinking about how much of a big deal was made with discovery and all the work that was done incorporating them into the game, my question is how long after discovery came out was it before the changes were added to the game? Really just wondering if we have something similar to look forward to with Picard or not, and I am also hoping they will take some creative licenses to fix continuity back to normal in the game that Picard is kind of rewriting lol. Maybe it could be an alternative timeline, and this one where what happened to seven in last nights episode turned out differently how we would have rather seen it happen. (yes i am being a little cryptic cause I don't want to add any spoilers for those who havent watched it yet like my bf who is pissing me off cause he is way behind and so I couldnt talk to him about how i felt about the episode, so frustrating lol (sorry for the tangent, but thanks for listening)

    Returning player, feeling overwhelmed

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 01:54 AM PST

I played the game on and off since it first release. Last time i played was middle of 2016 and i forgot pretty much everything since then :)

I have one Tactical Fed Char, lots of ships but not sure which one to use since it's been so long.

3 of those ships are T6, a Fleet Arbiter Battlecruiser, a Presidio Cruiser and a Intel Escort. I mainly used the Arbiter. It's decked out in all orange Mk 14 gear, 6 Antiproton Beam Arrays with crit, critdmg, Pen and 2 Omnidirectional Beams in the back. Is that still good or should i go for something else? Is it worth upgrading those Beams to Mk 15?

The worst part and the biggest hurdle getting back in the game is the amount of active abilities my ship has. I have over 40! of them on my skillbars. I can't believe they didn't revamp the whole active Ability system in the last 4 years. There is still no way to make them auto trigger like the console version has?

Back then i remember i used a Logitech keyboard macro to autocast those skills so i dont have to click them every few seconds. I guess this is still necessary?

Also, what should i focus on now? My char is 65 now. It only took me a few Admiralty missions to get from 60 to 65. Which of the Reputations should i focus on? I have all the old ones at Rank 5, but it seems there is rank 6 now. There are also 5 new ones that im at 0 with.

Is R&D Rank 20 worth it now? I have most of them at Rank 15.

I hope someone can help me a little. I really want to get back in the game again.

New "Picard" style transporter effects for 2410 era characters?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 09:00 PM PST

Currently the 2410 era characters in game are using the classic TNG era transporter effects. So while I realize STO actually takes place after Picard, our transporter effects in game are even older than those we see in Picard. So is there a chance that 2410 era characters might get updated to at least what we see in Picard, rather than the decades old (in game years) effects we currently have?

What day does the Legendary Bundle Discount actually end?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:53 AM PST

Have we gotten any confirmation, since they updated the in-game bundle timer to end on 2/24 at 1pm eastern, that the sale still ends on 2/27 as Kael mentioned on reddit and twitter when the initial bugged timer was released? It may not seem like a huge difference but the conflicting dates make it a bit awkward since I planned to grab the bundle on Wednesday the 26th. I haven't been able to find any official communication since then to confirm the actual end date, so I was curious if anyone else has.
