Posted: 22 May 2021 11:30 PM PDT Okay, this is a courtesy note for anybody in the future who sees this bug I just saw. To summarize, I was supposed to get a free ship (token), but was only seeing 5000+ Dilithium ships. I got frustrated for like 15 minutes and was typing this up. Now, upon going back to make sure my message matched the game... the ship is showing as free suddenly! In other words, a bug where you have to wait 15-20 minutes before you can get a free ship. Moral of the story for those of you frustrated as well: eat some pizza and come back to the game in like 15 minutes and you should be able to get your free ship. ----------------------------------------- Here's what I did, BTW. (Basically, what I tried earlier.) Admiral Quinn told me to go get a free ship and my mission says: So on the Earth Spacedock, I went to the second spot on the left to the character for "Acquire Ships." When I browse for my level (the only option she gives me), she shows me Commander level ships like the Cheyenne Heavy Cruiser. Yet I don't have a free ship. Every ship is 5000+ Dilithium. Loss of all STO progress on account Posted: 22 May 2021 05:12 PM PDT So, pretty much, I saw this post with a code on it that I wanted to try to redeem. But I downloaded the game on steam, not through the ARC launcher. So, I installed the ARC launcher, signed into my account and then went to STO In library. I couldn't find the redeem option until I downloaded the game from the ARC launcher. I finished reinstalling it from the ARC launcher and went to redeem the code it was already redeemed. After this I just wanted to play normally and I uninstalled the ARC launcher and the STO app I got from the ARC launcher. I opened steam and ran STO and had this unusually sized patch. It took a while to download and when it finally finished I loaded in, it placed me at the start of choosing character and when I looked at the character list I had none left. I left and started the game multiple times with he patch downloading again and all my progress gone. Could somebody please help I had 250 hours of progress on my account. I need to vent about this cryptic "support" Posted: 22 May 2021 07:16 PM PDT My KDF recruit reward isnt unlocking. The one for the kit after finishing the klingon episodes. It says "complete all klingon story arcs". Done that. Checked episodes. All say "replay" indicating I completed them. Receiver says Age of discovery, Julas discovery and klingon civil war completed. I claimed those rewards. Checked the mission descriptions and all says Ive completed them. But the fourth icon is still greyed out. Since no useful info is to be found what to do on my side, people suggested to write a ticket. So I wrote a ticket. Nice response times these days but the responses... I had my fair share of conversations with GMs in my over 20 years of gaming but this is certainly one of the highlights. This is as bad as the time I had a ticket exchange with at least three GMs about a forum ban and none of them could tell me the actual reason why I got banned while they babbled literal nonsense. Its ridiculous in this case too. First ticket response in my email. "I've done some research and found out that other players were able to resolve the issue by completing the current Featured Episodes. Please try it as well and update me if it does not resolve the issue." Second ticket response in my email. "This appears to be a duplicate of a ticket already in our system. We ask that you please avoid sending us multiple tickets regarding the same issue. This ticket will now be closed and no response from you is necessary. Your primary ticket regarding this issue will be unaffected." Yeah... maybe dont hide the reply field at the botton under the first ticket instead at the top where the GM replies come in. Seriously, this might be a rookie mistake when the first messengers came out two decades ago. But today, an upwards going conversation with the reply field at the bottom... Third ticket response in my email. "May I confirm that you already completed the Empire and Klingon Civil War story arcs? If so, please try to replay the last mission from Klingon Civil War arc which is Leap of Faith for a possible fix. If this still does not resolve the issue, please update me on this ticket so I can further investigate." At this point I was questioning their reading skills. I literally opened my first ticket stating that I completed all klingon story arcs. Now they want confirmation. Ok, so I replayed this tedious mission. Uh. I had more fun grinding old missions for space sets. Also their empty phrases sound condescending and piss me off. "Thank you for your cooperation." Newest ticket response. "Kindly try and finish the two Featured Episodes which are "Knowledge is Power" and "Leap of Faith". Once completed, please do try and check if the reward will be unlocked for your recruit. I hope that this helps." Try and finish? Once completed?? Did they even read my first ticket? Or the second? Or the third? Did the confirmation that I already finished all klingon story arcs get lost in the matrix? Or that I already replayed the tedious mission as suggested? Are they just guessing what might help? Because telling me to replay the same mission after I told them I replayed it (along with another mission of that arc) doesnt indicate any reading skills on their part. I dont even know how to reply anymore without pouring my anger into it. What are these people thinking? Is this supposed to help? [link] [comments] | ||
Account verification problems, looking for help Posted: 22 May 2021 05:01 PM PDT I got a new computer today. Well and good, and I play STO through Steam. I logged into STO through Steam just fine, but when I got into the actual in-game login, right before the character select screen, it sees this is a new computer and won't let me log in without a verification code sent to my email. My email address, it turns out, is one that no longer exists. I forgot to change it with Cryptic/ARC when I changed email servers. I went into my account, and I can't change my email address... because it wants a verification code from my own email address. I've submitted a ticket with ARC customer service to change my email address to my new gmail address. In the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions? Edit: Using the old computer to try to change the password didn't work, it still wanted a verification email from the defunct account. [link] [comments] | ||
