    Update to our community guidelines

    Hi there,

    As our community has grown over the years, and continues to do so, we also must evolve our guidelines. Below you'll find our revised rules for posting and commenting on /r/sto.

    These revisions are not meant to restrict access to our community. They're designed to provide everyone with a fun, safe, and enjoyable space to discuss Star Trek Online.

    1. Abide by the Reddit Content Policy

    Abide by the Reddit Content Policy. In particular, harassment; express or implied threats of violence; exposure of personal information (to include posting of other users' in-game usernames or handles without permission); and bigotry (including but not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic posts or comments) are not permitted here and will result in removal from this community.

    2. Be mature and respectful

    Be mature and respectful in your interactions with all community members, including developers, other players, and fellow subreddit users. Trolling, flaming, and personal attacks (such as directed or defamatory language) are not permitted here.

    3. Posts must be STO-related; no spam

    Posts must be directly related to Star Trek Online. (Posts related to Star Trek generally, but not specific to Star Trek Online, will be removed.) Links to official sites must contain news, patch notes, or some other form of noteworthy information directly connected to the game. Spam posts, including advertisements or solicitations (including solicitations for trades or giveaways of in-game items) are not permitted.

    4. Posts promoting a vested personal interest are limited to two per week

    Self-created content directly related to STO, such as screenshots or videos created in or through the game are welcome. Submissions with a vested personal interest should not exceed two per week. Examples include links or other content that drives traffic to personally-owned or controlled sites or accounts such as youtube or twitch. Vested personal submissions in excess of two per week may be removed. Posts by multiple Reddit accounts to the same end source count toward the same limit.

    5. No violations of STO's Terms of Service

    Posts or comments that include content violating the game's Terms of Service are prohibited. This includes express or implied references to botting, data-mining or data-mined content, cases of unintended game design that have been confirmed by the game's developers, and real-money transactions (including buying or selling of in-game goods or currency, or power-leveling services).

    6. Follow moderator guidance

    Follow moderator guidance, especially with respect to removed posts or comments. Evasion of moderator action, including reposting removed content, re-litigating post or comment removal via new posts or comments, and evasion of temporary or permanent bans, are strictly prohibited and will result in more stringent rules enforcement. Suspected ban evasion will be reported to the Reddit admin team. Questions or appeals relating to moderator action may be made via modmail to the moderator team.

    7. No politics or religion

    Politics and religion are topics that can quickly turn ugly, and are not permitted.

    I'll stick around for a bit to answer any questions you may have. A few other mods may pop in as well.

    Just doing my daily reputation routine, logging through my chars, finishing/starting reputation projects and checking how my traits are... most of them are gone again. Just because I was offline since yesterday. Even though I saved loadouts I cant get them back by reloading the loadout. Redoing them manually on several chars sucks!

    How long has this been going on now? What does it take for the devs to finally fix this???

    Bonus Dilithium Weeks! and.... unclear wording

    I've read and reread this several times and am still unclear what the wording in the STO webpage regarding "Bonus Dilithium Weeks!" means. Specifically:

    • Dilithium rewards from completing Event Reputation Projects no longer receive a bonus.
      • This excludes Event Reputation Projects

    I presume the intent was to eliminate any bonus dilithium for completing a rep project, but it reads like "there's no bonus for rep projects, but that exclusion doesn't include rep projects".

    Can someone take pity on me and clear this up?

    Why bring Delta recruit or similar with SAME OLD bugs

    I was stuck at the KDF recruiter when similarly picking a weapon and going to the next map "Intruder alert" Filed a ticket with support as usual it was a waste of time. In the old days they use to unstuck your toon or move you. Now you only get the generic response....working on it and escalated to Game master. Known bug.

    Just small example but what irritates me that MR EP gave the team the GO AHEAD with these recruiting events think they ran smooth. They did not.

    These are archaic bugs and as others said one of the many reason they were never brought back. That happens when they don't listen and just act in impulses rather in knowing "WHY" these are not back. They were a full of errors then and still are. Bugs are since 2017/2018 and still here just do a search and dont take my word for it. Please FIX any other ones before bringing them back.

    FED playable ship suggestions for levelling / content

    Hey all, so i play STO on and off [missed a fair few winter event /summer event ships etc, and other big events] Recently came back [just 2 days before the delta recruitment -cant be bothered to make another fresh toon and do all the content ill be doing again] Anyway i have 2 cstore T6 coupons, enough lobi for 1 ship and just under 340mil [to maybe buy a exchange ship, does anyone have suggestions on which ship to get, or use? Im very much a noob "press that button" kind of person, always have been, not sure if any of the ships i have can be made into good enough ships as i tend to just fill them with all the random universal consoles i have, or i go all cannons or all beams etc. Thanks in advance, i know the ships i have arent anything special i have been using the Bajoran ship while levelling and im liking it [shame its so tiny haha, i tried to use 2 of the carriers but either im too much of a noob,i just kept dying]

    Need Help!!

    Someone please tell me how to find/obtain hanger squadrons. Specifically the epoch fighter squadron if it's a thing cause I have the cronos dreadnought. I also don't know how to upgrade fighters

    Cross-faction Consoles removed but Infinity Lock Boxes still lists them as options?

    Long story short,

    Took a few months off.

    Came back for Delta Recruit.

    Needed a DPRM.

    Double checked an actual Infinity Lockbox to see if they were available.

    Bought 20 key ring.

    Opened 9 boxes and got a Cross-Faction Console or Salvaged Console box....no cross faction consoles available to choose.

    So, they took them out but did not update the Lockbox itself, so how are we supposed to know this?

    I already put in a ticket. My fingers are crossed but I have low hopes.

    Advice needed

    Hey,
    I need your advice in solving my issue :
    I have lvl 65 KDF Recruit with quite a number of recruit's assignments completed. On the last day of that even I have created another KDF Recruit character and she is now lvl 24 but did not even complete the mission which grants T6-ish ship (just lvled up in various TFOs).
    We have a Delta Recruit event right now. I have created a Romulan Delta Recruit (I like their racial story) and I am thinking about deleting the above mentioned lvl 24 KDF Recruit character and creating a new KDF Delta Recruit one in that place.
    I just think that my account won't benefit from an additional KDF Recruit character as such but it will benefit from a new KDF Delta Recruit as some Delta Recruit's missions are faction locked.
    What is your thought about that?

    Rep Armor and Boffs

    So, I was looking forwards to kitting out the crew of my Eternal-class in the TDI Rep outfit, however it only seems to be available for my captain. This is confusing as I know my female Boffs have the "Iconian Resistance Suit" and "MACO" uniform categories, yet none have the "Temporal Battlesuit" category that my captain got. Is it possible to use Rep armors on Boffs? Or are those displayed categories a lie?

    Choosing a Tier 6 Romulan Ship to Invest In!

    Hey everybody! I've got a lv. 65 Romulan Tactical Officer that's in dire need of a proper ship. Originally I was going to continue purchasing D'deridex's since thats my favorite Star Trek ship design. However I'm currently flying the Tier 5-U D'deridex and the turn rate is absolutley abysmal and I don"t want to invest a ton of time and/ or money into the next level of D'deridex if its more of the same disappointment.

    So with all that said I'm having trouble choosing whether to go with the Fleet Laeosa Research Warbird, The Tal Shier Adapted Destroyer or the Ra'nodaire Support Carrier Warbird.

    If anyone owns one of these ships and would like to give me their thoughts I would very much appreciate the help!

    Is there a companion app associated with STO?

    I'm tired of having to update information or change out loadouts of my docked ships in the game. I also like updating my Captain's backstory after I finish an arc (yes I'm a nerd and like role-playing my character) but just now I finished typing up a whole thing on xbox, only for a mission alert to pop up that I couldn't read besides the accept/decline options. After I declined to finish what I was doing, the damn text box crashed and saved my like year and a half's worth of updates as a blank box. (I also play on PC, but it looks the exact same on console. Fight me.)

    Running with my Klingon Recruit and some missions just don't work first time for example:

    The son had to do this stupidity TWICE for it to recognize i had done it

    Tried this crap THREE times and the dumb corpse fucker of a general REFUSES to allow me to turn this one in

    Why they died: Again needed to run this twice for it to count

    can i expect the main missions to require the same number of tries? or will it take more than that?

    it does not help that i despise the ghoulish Kobali corpse stealing. necrophilie bastards and want to exterminate them more than the Vaadwaur

    Stuck in tutorial?

    So I just started, made my character, got thru some of the story, and I'm supposed to repel the klingon invaders from my ship. I've only got 71%, cant find any others have looked everywhere I can think of. relogged a couple times as well. Anyone know the next step?
