Changes to Reddit Fleets and in-game [RedditChat] Posted: 02 Jan 2021 01:01 AM PST With the removal of access to in-game chat channels via XMPP and the consequent reduction in our ability to monitor in-game activity, we - with a heavy heart - have decided to step back from actively managing our in-game assets, namely the fleets REDdit Alert, Reddit Star Empire, Mirror Reddit, House of Snoo, and House of Rising Snoo as well as the in-game chat channel [RedditChat]. All references to the 5 fleets and chat channel here on the subreddit as well as in our discord channel will be removed and we will no longer be accepting fleet invite requests. What does this mean for you and your toons you may have in the fleets?
What do the changes mean for the subreddit r/sto and our official discord channel?
It is our hope that all players who are currently with us will continue to see the fleets and the chat channel as their 'home' in Star Trek Online as most of us have for the better part of the past 11 years. At the same time, it has become clear that we can no longer manage the fleets in the same way as we have in the past. We hope that the changes that we are going to implement will have the minimum possible impact on you, the community who contributed a lot of time, effort, and resources to make our fleets and channel what they are today. First time playing on PC and it is AMAZING! Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:14 AM PST I recently upgraded my computer...yadah yadah yadah. I saw STO pop up in my Steam suggestions and decided to give it another go (already did one 65+ FED character on XB1). And holy cow, this is a whole new game. I don't want to rag on the console version (loved playing it) but it just feels so much more natural on PC. My ship battles are so fluid now. I'm having the legendary battles like you would see on the show, repairing the shields and hitting the torpedo at just the last moment before total destruction. It is so rewarding! I couldn't do the battles as smoothly (especially in the beginning) when I was playing on the console. I've fallen into a deeper love of this game then when I first found it. I can't wait to get to 65 with my Romulan character. Jolan tru! [link] [comments]

Opinion(s) on the winter ship? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:42 AM PST Personally, for someone who doesn't spend real currency on this game for ships, equipment, benefits, etc. I think it's okay-ish. I've been using it on a science character I made and the hanger pets are pretty good for being a free ship. Though, I wish there was another aft weapon slot, I like it, sort of. What's the difference between Scorpion Fighters and Scorpion Fighters 'Squadron'? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:34 AM PST I noticed that in the Romulan reputation there's now a new hangar pet called Scorpion Fighters Squadron, with the same weapons as the normal fighters. On the wiki it states that the squadron variant is composed of several fighters instead of just one, but it doesn't explain if there are any differences in their HP, launch cooldown, and in general their behaviour. Are these squadrons better or worse? [link] [comments]
Accidentally banked my starter bat'leth Posted: 02 Jan 2021 07:51 AM PST Can some one tell me if I can get a replacement bat'leth for the forcas 3 tornament I've put the starter bat'leth in my bank without realizing I need it for the tornament [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jan 2021 03:40 AM PST I want to do a diplomacy mission with the doff, but I'm missing an bartender and entertainer doff and no other diplomacy mission is appearing. Do I need to buy those doff from somewhere or can I get another diplomacy mission ? I got the Lower Decks doff package, I have some questions about Boimler he's listed as a Security Officer but that doesn't reflect at all what we see him doing on the show. Rutherford and Tendi are ok as doff, and Mariner as an Assault Squad Officer makes sense as she does a lot of fighting and it's shown that it's something she enjoys. Did the model Boimler as a Security Officer so that he'd be in the same division as Mariner ? Imho Boimler should be a Con Officer, it matches what he does on the bridge most of the time and his ability is iffy to me as well, we've never seen him work with torpedoes or etc, I understand it might be harder to implement if it's at all possible but his ability should probably deal with computers in some way. Sorry to nitpick it's just that the traits for example on all 4 of them match the characters very well so obviously they put in some thought into adding them in the game and like I said Tendi, Rutherford and Mariner are all very ok so Boimler not matching with the show is odd. Could we please get some 'Device' love? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 06:41 AM PST Kobayashi Maru Transponder / Temporal Negotiator Have neither of these - could they make a Mudd's appearance or enter the Phoenix Prize Pack? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2021 07:10 PM PST Unification takes place in 2368, ~42 years before STO time (2410). In that episode, D'Tan is at most 20 years old, and in fact some sources list him as being 12 years old. So in game, he should be in his 50's or 60's. Either way, he should look like a middle-aged adult -- perhaps even on the youngish side. He's younger than T'Pol and Tuvok, and as far as I know Romulans and Vulcans have the same general lifespan. Jem'hadar vanguard temporal warship - thoughts ? Posted: 02 Jan 2021 06:32 AM PST Hello, While i was reading a post on reddit about the jem'hadar warship, i made a mistake and bought this one instead : https://sto.gamepedia.com/Jem%27Hadar_Vanguard_Temporal_Warship The original warship which everybody appreciate is https://sto.gamepedia.com/Jem%27Hadar_Vanguard_Warship After i viewed the ship specs, i have been a bit afraid by its lack of hull 0.75 modifier, it is thin, really thin... My question is : Should i ask Cryptic for a refund / exchange for the other warship ? I appreciate temporal ships, but this jem'hadar ship look very fragile ... Any thoughts pls ?
