Posted: 02 Dec 2020 10:03 AM PST How about for the next First Contact Day instead of celebrating first contact with the Vulcans we instead celebrate it with a Mirror Universe Theme as we join Zefram Cochrane in gunning down the Vulcan invaders?! [link] [comments]

Star Trek Online runs fine on Playstation 5, even has improved loading times over PS4 Pro Posted: 01 Dec 2020 07:33 PM PST Just a quick post to let people know that Star Trek Online runs fine on the new Playstation 5. I know I had been previously searching for other people's experiences while I was debating about making the purchase, so figured I should post what I have found so far. Honestly, it is the only game I have played on the new system. I swapped out a PS4 Pro on an Ethernet connection with the PS5. So far the load times seem to be greatly improved. The game loads in about 1/3rd of the time of the PS4 Pro. I even was able to load into Earth's Spacedock zone, in about half the time of the PS4 Pro. I hope this helps those who were wondering if their favorite PS4 game would work on the new console. It does! Thank you Cryptic and the development team for preparing such a strong game engine when you brought the game over to Playstation and consoles! [link] [comments]
Beam: Overload but it's not a beam Posted: 02 Dec 2020 03:18 AM PST I have been wondering for a while, if you beam: overload a weapon, the beam glow intenser and it gets bigger. But a DSC and Kelvin timeline phaser is not exactly a beam, so, what happends if we beam: overload them? Anyone that have images or videos please? Can I see it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:12 AM PST I've just managed to get all crafting schools up to level 15 and curious what is recommended to craft with the intention to sell on the exchange. So far ive mainly been crafting and selling beam weapons..phasers and cannons however at mkll very rare they sell roughly for 100,000 which ain't bad but just asking if any of you folks think I should be crafting something else that would lead to more profit any tips would be appreciated [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Dec 2020 11:50 PM PST So in perusing the Wiki, I've stumbled across multiple weapons that break the 10km engagement distance rule, including but not limited to a long-range tetryon heavy cannon and the bio-neural warhead, but I've been unable to find a cohesive list of the weapons that have a >10km engagement range. What other weapons have you encountered that can do this? [link] [comments]

Any way to disable team voice chat? Posted: 01 Dec 2020 11:14 PM PST As the title, looking for a way to disable or mute people in team voice chat on Xbox. Look through every setting and tried every slider in options in the game and I even tried to mute the guy through Xbox and that didn't work. As far as I can tell there's no way to do this and it needs to be addressed. [link] [comments]

My Thoughts on the Merging Factions Posted: 01 Dec 2020 02:45 PM PST WIth Federation captains able to fly Romulan ships, and vice versa, and the recent cross factioning of a few formerly KDF ships, it seems that the game is moving towards becoming completely cross faction. Needless to say, this has sparked debate. Personally, I welcome it. More choice is always better, in my opinion, and if you don't want to use non faction ships, then you don't have to. However, I think there are ways they can go about it that would make the most sense, lore wise. Firstly, I think things should be limited until your particular toon has reached the "Alliance" phase of their faction's story mode. Until then, you would be limited to your own faction's ships, other than Romulans, who would be limited to their ships as well as their chosen faction. Federation should be able to create toons of any race, except possibly Jem Hadar- there are examples of pretty much every race as a Federation member in the wider lore. All uniforms should be unlocked as well, with the limitation that the only one that you can put in an actual "Uniform" slot would be of their faction; others would be limited to off duty costumes. If you are truly worried about this draining people away from the non Fed factions (which is a real concern) then perhaps captains from the other factions get a bonus. Say the Klingon Faction gets a bonus to all Tactical abilities to reflect the brutal training and sturdy ship construction techniques, Romulans get bonuses to Engineering to represent the creativity they've had to develop in their situation, and Fed gets a Science boost to represent their status as explorers. Just as an example. I think that if they create unique experiences and bonuses good enough to build a meta around, it would do more to keep people interested in each faction than simply locked ships. How the main two factions could be merged into one while still allowing for uniqueness and autonomy. Posted: 01 Dec 2020 06:33 PM PST I have replied to a couple of comments mentioning this before, but I thought I'd make a post expanding on my idea. There is a way to merge the main two playable factions, namely Starfleet and Klingons into one while still allowing for uniqueness and autonomy. We do know that the Romulan Republic eventually join the United Federation of Planets some time before 2769 as seen in the mission "Time and Tide" (you can see the beginnings of this with the Romulan storyline), while its not stated in the mission that Klingons also joined, it is heavily implied as the Ambassador that represents the entire Federation is a Klingon, meaning they must have been members for a long time. Canon information explicitly states the Klingon Empire join however, Daniels takes Archer to an unspecified date in the 26th century and tells him that Klingons are members of the Federation, we assume that Daniels is speaking from the perspective of the 26th century and not his native 30th century. If the Klingons did join the Federation it wouldn't really ruin the Klingon faction for two reasons, first is that all the missions set before they join would be unchanged and thus comes the justification for all the Klingon exclusive fleets, fleet holdings, social hubs, missions etc. Second is that even after joining the Federation they can still use their own ships the Federation members still keep their own fleets, this is why Starfleet seems mostly Human in the TV shows and movies despite hundreds of member races in the Federation, because Starfleet originated as an Earth organisation and the ships are primarily Earth designs based on what we have seen. While any species can join any organisation which we see then do, most Andorians would serve in the Imperial Guard and most Vulcans in the Vulcan Command Fleet, etc. Essentially you will be playing a member of the Federation just one that serves in the KDF and not Starfleet, however they could also use this unlock all Starfleet ships and uniforms for Klingon characters and their allies in the same way Romulans and Jem'Hadar already can. You will continue to be a member of the Alliance with the non-playable factions as well as the Romulans (too early for them to join probably) and Jem'Hadar. While it seems weird now for a major power to join another major power as a member world (which are autonomous) we don't yet know the outcome of this civil war, the devastation it might cause or the potential power vacuum we could see, perhaps it could end with the Federation taking the Empire under its wing as a Protectorate to help rebuild it before it inevitably joins the Federation later on, much like what is happening with Cardassia per the lore blogs. This would also mean that KDF characters will have access to all Starfleet uniforms and ships after they complete a certain mission just like what the Romulan and Jem'Hadar allied with the Federation current have, Klingon ships could also be unlocked for Federation players just like they have the Caitian, Vulcan, Andorian and Tellarite ships once the certain mission is completed.
