Does anyone use Tricobalt Torpedos? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 04:24 AM PST I have been playing with some Voyager inspired layouts on my LRSV and am really puzzled by Tricobalt torpedos. They have a really long cooldown, fly like a snail and get shoot down in 90% of all cases. Their somewhat mediocre damage output doesn't offset those penalties in the slightest in my opinion. Are they deadweight or has anyone actually managed to make them somewhat viable? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2020 08:38 AM PST Okay I have ran into few bugs with the tailor but I have never seen this one before. Basically I have one officer I am trying to edit the uniform for but every time I try to hit purchase, it saves those changes to a completely different officer and doesn't do anything to the one I'm trying to edit. Also the last 2 officers in the tailor keep dissapearing and reappearing. Has anyone else encountered this before? [link] [comments]

Any one ever use the Sphere builder heavy fighters? Posted: 07 Nov 2020 09:41 AM PST Any one ever use these fighters I was running some basic tests I think compared to these frigates https://sto.gamepedia.com/Hangar_-_Sphere_Builder_Arehbes_Frigate https://sto.gamepedia.com/Hangar_-_Sphere_Builder_Heavy_Fighters The fighters seem much much more effective anyone have any thoughts? Some of the Wiki changes make no sense Posted: 06 Nov 2020 11:45 PM PST It used to be that I could search "template:energy weapon" and it would take me to a page that would list the space energy weapon types. I could then click on the energy type and it would then take me to a page that would list all the sets that would enhance that damage type. Those pages no longer exist. At best, you can be directed to a page that just lists every single set. Which is great, if you want to sift through every single set, and aren't interested in finding a set for a specific energy type. Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't the Wiki supposed to make finding information on the game easier? So why would they take those template pages down, and replace them with something more frustrating to use? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Nov 2020 03:30 PM PST So I've just embarked on a harrowing mission: equipping all of my alts with Competitive reputation engines, and two pieces of Amaco/KHG (what can I say, I like torp boats.) And then it struck me how much of a pain in the ass this process is. Reputation marks are easy, I can just stuff the alt with mark boxes via account bank. Elite marks are more of a bother: I can slowly convert marks to elite marks with the rep daily, obtaining one at a time, or I can try to do some advanced TFOs with a crappy undergunned alt that everyone will resent having on their team, a process I estimate to be roughly as fun as pounding rusty nails into one's peehole. My wish? Make elite reputation marks account bound. Simple as that. This way, my better developed alts with thousands of rep marks sitting around doing nothing, can help accelerate the development of my crapulent alts. Beneficial side effect for Cryptic? More dil spent on rep gear! More toons being developed! Alts becoming mains! PRECIOUS ENGAGEMENT! METRICS! OH GOD THE MEEEEETRIIIIIICS!!!111oneonefive Whatcha think? [link] [comments]
Idea for KDF Legendary BoP - K'vort/Hegh'ta Frigate BoP Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:51 AM PST K'vort class birds-of-prey were described as being battlecruisers. In the game we have the unique Frigate type of playable ship, cruiser commands and an cmdr engineer the rest universal seating on a relatively fragile but nimble hull. Seems like a perfect fit? Scale it to the Hegh'ta model which is already a larger than average sized bird-of-prey, give us both skin options and update the Hegh'ta skin accordingly, the KDF will have a legendary ship, AND they'll also have an exclusive Frigate type playable ship - which it currently lacks. The two current frigates in the game are the Elachi cross-faction one we got a year or two ago, and the Franklin promo ship. We also get a ship people on KDF side have been clamouring for for as long as I've been playing and also updating an old ship model to boot. If they can make the Inquiry-class built off of the Avenger/Arbiter hull surely they can do the same here. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Nov 2020 03:27 PM PST Been grinding all through COVID to get enough zen to get a LTS based on the 50% off sale they had in the spring. It's now at 33% off for the second time since the 50% sale. Is it likely to go to 50% for Christmas or Anniversary? I actually have enough to buy now at 33, but if I can get it at 50%, I'll have enough left over to get the Prometheus bundle when it hits console. Advice for those who have been around for several years? [link] [comments]
Entangled Quantum Bombardment Question Posted: 06 Nov 2020 05:29 PM PST Does anyone on console know if this is an auto execute? Looking to streamline some things on my science build [link] [comments]

I'd like a scaled-down solo version of the Voth (Dyson ground) BZ Posted: 06 Nov 2020 10:32 PM PST Same enemy density and same stats would be fine (with player and enemies scaled to 65 of course). Without getting into the actual mechanics of the place, like Comm Array points being painfully time gated, the biggest reason I don't visit this place more often is its sheer size. There are so many points to capture on a huge map that you simply need lots of people working on an instance or it'll take forever. It's not a difficult task, it's just an exercise in repetition. With 15 players putting their full effort into clearing points, it takes a more or less reasonable amount of time, but with fewer than that, or with underequipped players, or with having to sit at a silo when the zone is almost cleared just so you get a chance to hit a dino before it's dead, it ends up feeling like purgatory: endless and dull. But it has parts that are kinda fun! Like clearing an artillery point solo. The only barely-arguable time gate is the interaction time to hack the various stages of a generator, but I think it's acceptable because it's gauging how well you've cleared/CC'ed the area, since taking damage stops the interaction. The time it takes to clear an artillery point is very directly impacted by the player's strategy and combat. And then of course there's a big dinosaur. The mortar strikes are balanced around having multiple targets, which can get silly for a melee player being unable to engage due to a dozen incoming hits right on top of the dino, so that might be okay to adjust downward for a solo encounter. Other than that, it's generally a good challenge. The encounter has fire to avoid, there's a big single target, there are adds, and so on. Soloing a dino is so much more engaging than standing there autofiring at one weak baddie after another while not even bothering to use kit modules. But you can usually only hit one or two big dinosaurs before other players kill the rest. And then there's an entire zone to clear before you can fight anymore of them. It's lame. I'd like a solo version. Maybe it could be an episode (with no cooldown timer, obviously; that'd defeat the purpose), where the player clears one of each type of capture point, then a mini-boss encounter, and then a V. Rex. I'm not sure about what the rewards should be. I would hope it'd be more than a standard episode's 720 dil, like 1440 or 2160, since it's a solo clear of group-difficulty content. Split the reward amongst all participating teammates, maybe? Or just beam me in next to a dino and grant 720 dil for a kill, I dunno. Either way, the main purpose would be a reliable sparring partner without having to slog through a ton of busywork. [link] [comments] |
