And I just felt like expressing my appreciation for the the Kentari/Lukari arcs and characters/missions. It was one of the first times, even as a beta player, that I felt they really hit on real Trek beats, and I always enjoyed this level on the Kentari planet, because there was a lot of great set design and good (if a bit ham-fisted) visual storytelling in the map assets. I was like, "Yeah, I would very much enjoy watching this arc as an episode."

Just want to put this out there: Can we please do away with the ridiculous TW cool down?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:22 AM PDT

Just a rant I guess, I made the mistake of going to the research lab and not the starbase and it's on a 14 min cool down, why? I've played since the beginning and have always hated this mechanic but now it's really annoying me. Just let us jump around where we need to go for heaven sake. Ugh. That's all.

After Year of Klingon is over can we get some overhauls to the Borg/Deferi content?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2020 01:33 AM PDT

I would say that most of the game's enemy types and environments, going back to Legacy of Romulus, still look good even today. And many of the pre-LoR enemy types like Cardassians, Jem'Hadar, Vorta, and Breen, have gotten updates over the years to make them look significantly better. Likewise, most of the pre-LoR mission arcs have gotten revamped to bring them up to a higher quality.

The one exception to this is the Borg, and Deferi, content. The Borg textures, especially for their ground NPCs, look awful, just miserable. They look so low rez compared to everything else in the game. And the Deferi content(Cold War arc and Defera ground BZ) are equally just as bad looking, and poorly designed.

If they revamp anything after YoK is over, it needs to be these things. there's some other small revamps that would be nice, like revamping the 2800 arc to use the new DS9 map, but thats small fish compared to this.

Who else thinks this stuff needs a revamp? what would you like to see revamped otherwise?

Away team gurus, why does one SCI boff do so much more damage?

    Posted: 02 Oct 2020 01:51 AM PDT

SCI 1 (hologram): medical tricorder, cold fusion flash 2, hyperonic radiation, nanite monitor 2
Traits: Creative, Acute Senses, Superior Photonic Lifeform, Superior Stubborn
    SCI 1 uses a boolean
    DPS 189.88 (sto combat meter)

SCI 2 (lethean): medical tricorder, seismic agitation field 2, hyperonic radiation, paradox bomb 3
Traits: Superior Creativity, Rapture, sure footed, telepathic
SCI 2 uses an omega autocarbine
    DPS 31.68 (sto combat meter)

I expect the boolean to do better, but weapons aren't as important to me as their boff abilities.

It does look like SCM doesn't give SCI 2 credit for seismic agitation field, but that adds up to around 20 dps based on a quick glance.

    Looking at hilbert score:
SCI1 gets 89 DPS from cold fusion flash and 43 DPS from hyperonic radiation
SCI2 gets 18 DPS from seismic agitation field and 23 from hyperonic radiation and paradox bomb ... is not assigned specifically, one other boff has it as well (32 DPS total between two boffs).

It appears that SCI 1 consistently does more damage (over several fights, some with equal gear), or I'd call it chance.
Does a hologram attack quicker than a lethean? Could the lethean's Rapture ability be getting priority or slow to activate?

On SCI 1 Hilbert score shows 595 "swings/attacks" of cold fusion flash. 329 of hyperonic radiation
On SCI 2 Hilbert score shows 18 "swings/attacks" of rapture. 207 of hyperonic radiation, 177 of seismic agitation field.

Maybe seismic agitation field or rapture takes longer to activate, since SCI 2 is clearly getting fewer attacks in.

I don't issue commands to boffs individually.

Obviously, I can pay more attention to what slacker SCI 2 is doing in order to solve this mystery. I was expecting the boffs to do similar damage.

SCI 1 does have a higher crit chance now, but there was a big gap even when they had the same gear/weapons.

I don't know if I've given enough information to get any insight.
