    Could anyone explain the specializations?

    Posted: 02 Aug 2020 07:14 AM PDT

Hey guys, so I've completed the specializations of intel, temporal, pilot, strategist and constable. I've got no idea which is best and what the benefits of these are. Could anyone who knows a thing or two explain me the specializations? Thanks in advance.

I saw this guy today and his outfit was so tacticool, and I wanted to make a same set. But that guy may be AFK when I PMed him so I didn't get a response. Can you folks help identifying what elements are used in this outfit? I know the Lorca armor but I can't seem to find anything else in my wardrobe. Thanks.

Is there a command science vessel?

I can't think of one off the top of my head. Any particular reason that this specialization is so rare? Is it really a bad combo or potentially too good?

Gender Swap Token - It really is time, guys.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 04:09 PM PDT

I posted this over a year ago. Risa is coming up, and while I don't expect anything to happen soon if we get the interest, it has brought these feelings up in me again, enough so that I wanted to post again about just how much this means to myself and so many other trans people who play this game.

I feel like I'm excluded. I have a main that is very emotionally important to me. I started it before I'd figured myself out, and its male. I've feminized it as best I can, as I'm comfortable playing female toons now, and for me, this toon is me, my avatar, my representation of the game. I have alts, but they don't have the same connection for me.

I can't join in on Risa, not really. I don't get to fit into the environment. Know why this hurts so much? Because this is real life for me, and many other trans people. Many of us avoid going swimming because of the scrutiny we get or the discomfort with our own bodies, or any other number of very trans experience reasons.

And having to live through this in my favorite little escape too is... distressing is the word I keep coming back to... but to be more on brand with myself it really fucking sucks. So much.

I know this is probably a lot of work, but can we please, please, please get a gender flip token. I'll buy it.

    Tebok Vs Tucker?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 05:28 PM PDT

I'm thinking about getting a Miracle Worker Cruiser and I'm trying to decide between the Romulan and Fed versions.

The Fed gets more total power and cruiser commands, while the Rom can use dual cannons and can be claimed by any faction.

Personally I think the Tebok looks better, but might look a little awkward as a beam boat depending on where the weapons fire from.

More discussion about "The Center Cannot Hold" and "The Khitomer Discord"

I'm not going to mention much about how these stories feel and make more sense from a Klingon perspective, it's been covered pretty extensively by others.

One thing I would like to talk about, is just a little thought I had about why J'Ula would be pursing a Federation captain as much as she is.

Mostly, if it/you the player, were a Federation species that she doesn't know of (the "alien" that players create, but also species like Ferengi, Trill, Bajorin, Betazed, discoverd long after she and the Mo'Kai jumped to the furture/STO present.)

From her perspective, there's this species she doesn't recognize in command of a Federation Starship, and who knows how long they've been members of the Federation? Maybee she could be convincing enough to get a Federation Captain and their Starship to flock to her side. That would be a huge propaganda and status victory for her, even if it was just one ship.

It's at least something explain why she is so persistent in pursuing a Federation captain despite wanting to resume war with the Federation. Additionally, the player has killed a lot of people in ground combat, and even more by blowing up ships left and right. We aren't exactly the most shining example of Federation and Starfleet principles about peace and non-violence. Maybe she thinks the player character has gone a bit mad with bloodlust, and with the right convincing we'll point our phasers and disruptors at anything with a life sign that has the misfortune to be in front of us?

As for why J'Ula is so convinced that a war with the Federation and the Klingons will be one with a Klingon victory, it's very clear that without the Discovery Shenanigans and the poor writing of Discovery era Starfleet at being able to fight a war, that the Klingon Empire would have secured victory over the Federation.

Though, as far as we know, this might have been the first war the Federation has fought. A quick look through Memory Alpha doesn't seem to show any open conflict between the Earth-Romulan War and the Battle of the Binary Stars. (Incidentally, those conflicts are literally 100 years apart 2156 for the start of the Earth-Romulan and 2256 for Battle of the Binary Stars.)

J'Ula is used to -and expecting- a Federation that is not battle-hardened and does not have a lot of history or experience with conflict in space. Additionally, Klingon's have consistently been under estimating the Federation and humans for pretty much all of the established Star Trek canon.

It makes sense that someone from her era would be so certain and so convinced that fighting against the Federation right now (a Federation that has fought in the Dominion War, a war with the Klingons for the past few years, the Iconian war, and however many others I'm forgetting about within the past 20 or 30 years of lore) would be an easy and almost trivial task.

I think J'Ula would be very surprised at the outcome of a new Federation-Klingon War.

What I'm going to wish from Santa this year: Fleet T6 Ushaan Escort.

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 10:27 PM PDT

Honestly, I just think it's about time. Every other escort has one and, to me, it's the best looking ship in the game when mixed with the other versions. And if I were to really dream it would have an Intel Tac and Miracle Worker Eng seat.
