    This may be better in r/stobuilds, but I'll try them next.

    I've been working on a new character, and given her a pretty sweet Gagarin phaser build setup. In order to prepare for the next upgrade weekend, I went a little crazy with the phoenix boxes so that I could max her equipment out, and also upgrade some other stuff I've recently tweaked on other characters.

    Over the course of my upgrade stashing, I happen to get fairly lucky and come across three Epics and two Ultra Rares, and I don't really have any plans for them. I was wondering if you folks had any ideas for builds that might require a phoenix ship console. I already have the Bajoran Interceptor for Domino for this phaser build (and a few others), but I'm sort of interested in going for a Sci build with the Damar on another character.

    Any ideas?

    I mean there were a Klingon and a Romulan there too, but dam what a great moment for a Star Trek Fan :)

    Which ship to fly for a returning player's max level science captain

    I'm a returning player that's been gone for a few years so I'm trying to sort out my old characters, getting them up-to-date.

    I've started with my Klingon empire alt and got it a good ship. And now I'm aiming to do the same with my federation science captain.

    I've watched CounterYolo Gaming's budget builds video and I figure Ill try something along those lines of using just T5 ships since getting just a single fleet ship or a ship upgrade would take me a very long time. Plus I'd still need something to fly while grinding to that end. So I figure it's smarter to just go for the budget version from the get go and stick to it. (Frankly, it going to get me a long time just to reach the missions that drops the gear used in CounterYolo's video so realistically I'm going for the budget variant of the budget variant.)

    So no fleet ships or lockbox ships.

    Now my science captain have a few t5 ship's to choose from so I'm need help figuring out which of those ships to pick.

    First is the flying flatiron, the Deep Space Science Vessel.

    Next its alternate and much prettier version the Mirror Deep Space Science Vessel

    Then I have the option of getting the Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit at lvl 61. Though I can also get an escort or cruiser if that would be superior to a science ship.

    I also have the Obelisk Carrier, which I think is the best ship on the list but that looks like a flying sneaker.

    So these are the T5 ships I can pick for my max level science captain.

    Deep Space Science Vessel

    Mirror Deep Space Science Vessel

    Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit

    Obelisk Carrier

    with the option of an escort or cruiser at lvl 61.

    So which should I go for when making a budget ship?

    (Please don't say the flat iron or the flying sneaker. Pick a pretty one.)

    On an unrelated question, what type of ground weapons should you give boffs on away missions? Split beam, wide beam, stun, full auto, multi beam etc?
    Don't particularly enjoy ground mission and only does them when a story mission forces me to, so I'm not looking for the most optimal purple reputation weapons or what ever. Just want something to make my boffs effective enough to muddle through story missions without team wipes.

    chronometric calcuations vs morphogenic armaments for polaron space Omni beams

    I remember reading you can't use the omni beam from both sets (or the gamma rep omni beam?) So I was wondering which one people prefer, as a rear weapon for a beam boat.

    Turn rate specs?

    Are ship Turn Rate specs on the wiki in degrees per second? Or are they just relative numbers for comparison? I haven't seen anything there that would indicate what the units are.

    I've looked in-game at the stats for the ships I have and while they're all labeled "degrees per second" they also all have the same number, 3.0. I'm pretty sure my little T2 Escort and my Galaxy class cruiser should be different. (Wiki says they're 17 and 6, respectively.)
