Would it be possible to put Zoom In/Zoom Out into the starship customization using the shoulder buttons?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:26 PM PDT

The functionality is there, like we saw with the bug-that-was-an-unintended-feature a couple updates back where the right stick zoomed in and out in Acquire Ships, but, since they're unused in starship and shuttle customization, could we get Zoom In/Zoom Out permanently tied to the shoulder buttons on XBO and PS4?

It would be really neat, plus it would let us see the little details that Thomas and his team put on, like the doors on the docking ports of the NX class.

I know it wouldn't necessarily be the easiest thing in the world to do, but it's likely not the hardest, and would be just a neat little QOL thing.

I'm wondering how I join the task force operation Romulan imperial minefield, every time I queue up for it, it just tells me a few minutes later that I've been removed from queue. What do I do, other than selecting the operation from my menus

Curious AI during the "Brushfire" Mission...(POSSIBLE MILD SPOILERS)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 08:42 AM PDT

So, just a curious note, but while I was running the Brushfire Mission last night in the New Frontiers mission line, at the end during the last space combat against the Sona and Tzienkithi, I was focusing on the Sona dreadnought first, and after a few mins, realized no one was helping me. There were plenty of allied Klingon ships flying all around us, but they were just spectating while I was trying to take out the dreadnaught and frigates all on my own.

I finally decided to go after the other one and my allies finally decided to attack and we destroyed it quickly, and then the Sona dreadnaught followed suit right after as my allies finally started to do something.

Anyway, no big deal, just was a little glitch in the AI that was interesting, anyone else seen similar?

Ten Forward Weekly 15.04.2020 - Summer Ship Concepts

    Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:21 PM PDT

    Link: Twitch [2:23:10]

    Theme: Summer Ship Concepts

Guests: concept artist Hector Ortiz and and lead ship and UI artist Thomas Marrone

As with previous 4 streams, it was more about image, but they still said some interesting things.

I wish Mike would stop changing the start time.

    • Those chat names...
    • Step 1: References. Always.
    • Random Thomas's cat.
      • After some consideration, Mike's cat decided to visit.
    • Hector recommends reusing as much lines as possible during the design of the same things to have cohesive look.
    • Chat: "The casual competence with which Hector does this is just awe inspiring to those of us who couldn't do this to save our lives"
      • Mike: "Drawing is just shapes and lots of practice."
    • Multiple layers are important thing to have.
    • Having Musk's Tesla in STO would require IP negotiations, a Tesla is trademarked.
    • Thomas finds ships that had studio model compared to CG ones much easier to model realistically.
    • Apparently badges that are gifted during first contact day were created 9 years ago and then forgotten.
    • Thomas's camera troubles produced funny results.
    • With how things are, it's unlikely that there would be new activities for Risa this yeah.
    • During the work on Mike's ship, Hector turned the top view so it would be vertical instead of horizontal and chat started shouting "Captain Proton!"
    • Mike pitched the idea of making special reruns of several spooky episodes, not just Hearts and Minds.
    • Chat: "I think the stream makes it clear that Hector works so fast, he must have TONS of spare time."

    Question about T1-T4 ships

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:56 AM PDT

Dumb question: If you purchase one of the former T1-T4 Zen C-Store ships with dil and delete it, do you have to purchase it again with dil or is it unlocked permanently for the character afterwards?
