STO on Geforce Now Posted: 10 Mar 2020 10:33 AM PDT So my primary gaming machine is currently dead so I've been playing STO via Geforce Now on my ShieldTV and a 1080p tv and a 4k tv and the results have been pretty good. While there are a few annoying bugs, there's nothing game breaking. The main issue I've had is that the cloud PC instance is supposed to run like it has a RTX 2080 doesn't seem to be any more powerful than my own gaming PC which is an 8th gen i7, a GTX 1070, 16GB RAM, and an NVME SSD for my games. Hopefully performance will improve, but at least for now it's a good replacement for my dead system till it's repaired. submitted by /u/Jak_Crow [link] [comments]

Carriers...again Posted: 10 Mar 2020 09:37 AM PDT This subject has been discussed to death I know...but the reality of how true carriers have been rendered obsolete still bugs me. A lot of great suggestions about how to bring them back up to par have been offered, here's mine... Have pets on carrier class vessels (not flight deck carriers, which have more weapons to begin with, can equip DHCs, and typically have more tac slots) also receive all the buffs granted from the ship build they're launched from...damage boosts, crit chance, crit severity, etc. Yes? I'm looking for opinions on what looks the best and also any other recommendations. Strange FPS drop in Argala (Delta Quadrant) Posted: 09 Mar 2020 08:48 PM PDT I decided to run a new ship this weekend, and after getting it all set up, I decided to run some system patrols to gain Mastery levels. I ran out to Argala in the Delta Quadrant, and as soon as I warped in, my FPS fell through the floorboards. It was terrible through the whole mission. Soon as I was done, I warp out and in Sector Space everything was normal again. I then decided to test some Romulan patrol maps, and they all ran fine. New to the thread (and a general newb to the game) Posted: 10 Mar 2020 01:43 AM PDT Hello there!, as the title states, i'm pretty new to the STO community on reddit, and am a newbie in STO proper. While i do have several toons, it's not until i joined a fleet that i actually bothered to learn the game. Then i went a two year hiatus and have only recently come back. So yeah, i mean i still remember how the game is played and the importance of equipment and all, and my favourite play style is that of a beam boat.
