Is ground combat really this awful? Posted: 09 Jun 2021 10:16 AM PDT I've been playing the game for the past while and racked up 74 hours playtime right now, and I'm having a lot of fun, especially with the space combat. I know if I charge in I'll get dicked on so I make decisions on what to target and who to keep distance from, and I'm managing just fine. But with ground combat. Man. I just fought Gaul in the Takedown Episode and I never think I've had a more infuriating fight. I'm already at a disadvantage because I live in Australia, so my ping's awful, but it's never made any MMO for me impossible or too difficult to play, but there are times where my gun just doesn't fire at all; even though there's no debuffs or anything that are appearing in my affects bar. Everyone bum rushes everyone so it's near impossible to try and keep your distance (Especially when Gaul was being made immune to damage by a support bot, and while I was trying to get it taken down, I had to run around in circles with him right behind me), or my own Bridge Officers will charge into the middle of a group of enemies and get themselves wiped out. It took me about 10 minutes to slowly kill him and his support bots (The bots which literally only died bc of bleedthrough damage lol). Like man, am I just awful at the game, missing something, or is it just that awful? [link] [comments]
So I haven't played STO in 5 years.... Posted: 09 Jun 2021 12:10 PM PDT So obviously my game knowledge is a little out of date. Any tips, build guides, or other resources I should check out before getting neck deep into this game again? Obviously some things have been reworked, skill trees etc, so I've got a ton of skill points to reassign, not exactly sure where to start. Also, I stopped playing last time cuz it seemed like the only way to enjoy the game was pay-to-win, and recent posts in here have me worried that it's gotten worse, not better....thoughts? Posted: 09 Jun 2021 02:30 PM PDT On almost every source I've read, or through conversation, I'm often told that, by far and away, the best T-6 Science vessel is the Verne-class. I understand that "best" is a very murky and subjective term in STO, but I wanted to ask why the Verne-class is considered so damn good? What specifically sets it apart, from say, the Crossfield or the Annorax or Eternal or Edoulg (Which I am also lead to believe are all pretty nift in their own right) Furthermore, would you recommend it as a choice from the metaevent reward ? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jun 2021 03:04 PM PDT I've been playing the game since 2011, on and off. Mostly off these fews years. I check in now and again, have max reputation and have played through all of the missions. The loss of the Foundry several years ago broke my heart, and my one main reason for coming back through the years. With a fully-upgraded ship, away team, and max reputations...what incentive is there to come back? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:15 AM PDT So, now that I'm level 58, I'm finding it really hard to do any damage to mission Npcs. I have mark XI andrion phasers, but I still can't seem to do a lot of damage to the Npc shields. I'm also finding myself taking an absolute ton of damage, from even the simplest attacks. I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong, and any help would be appreciated. I also like to play on Hard mode, so I don't know if that might be the issue. [link] [comments]
Mine Dilithium Motherlode/Extract Draconis System Minerals Doff Missions Posted: 09 Jun 2021 03:30 PM PDT I'm trying to fine-tune my Dil farming at the Fleet Mine and K-13 for the duty officer assignments. I think everyone by now has figured out to use the Ferengi Miner with Stubborn, Teamwork, Unscrupulous 3x on the Mine Dilithium Motherlode assignment, and the Horta Miner with Resilient, Stubborn, Teamwork 3x on the Extract Draconis System Minerals assignment. But what about the other two doffs on each assignment? I'm trying to get both Failure and Disaster as close to 0 as possible (please don't tell me about the merits of wanting a higher Crit chance at the sacrifice of Success, I don't agree with that logic). Mine Dilithium Motherlode requires a purple Explosives Expert and Maintenance Engineer with the Stubborn, Teamwork, Unscrupulous traits. Extract Draconis System Minerals requires a purple Geologist and Maintenance Engineer with the Resilient, Stubborn, Teamwork traits. Has Anyone figured out if these doffs exist? If so, I'd love to know the names, for both Fed and Klingon factions. Thank you very much. - The April [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 12:04 AM PDT I was a bit bored yesterday, so I decided to do something silly. https://imgur.com/gallery/Sk58n1N Eventually the game started to lag quite severely. I might have to go see a doctor at some point. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 03:02 PM PDT I purchased them and the default colors are all black. which clearly does not match the show. I matched it by looking at images, but I was curious fi the exact colors Cryptic used to match the show were ever shared? [link] [comments]
“Character must complete tutorial and join a 25th century allegiance” Posted: 09 Jun 2021 07:23 AM PDT Total newbie here. I want to check out the multiplayer content like patrols, but it gives me this pop up if I try. I'm very certain I've completed the tutorial (Im STD on episode Secrets) and I'm not sure what it means by join a 25th century alliance? [link] [comments]

Mudd Kelvin Bundle - any good trait / console unlocks? Posted: 09 Jun 2021 05:38 AM PDT I'm on the fence about this bundle. The only appealing ship for me is the D7, and I have sufficient dil-bought Zen so it's not spending real money. Are there any other particularly useful traits or consoles in the community's view? Any advice much appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 12:08 PM PDT If you choose normal starfleet(2411 starfleet)you get phaser rifels, but whenever cutscene starts you get different looking gun...Why?How?What? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 10:02 AM PDT Anyone else having problems with reputation projects and fleet donations? Started yesterday, and has continued into today. I can't clear reputation projects that are completed, or start anything new. And I can't donate to fleet holdings. Admiralty and DOFF missions are still fine. Annoying. Also, I'm on PS4, which has been getting more frustrating. Regular crashing and longer than usual load times. Just waiting to find an available PS5, as I hear the game runs better :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2021 04:36 AM PDT How long does it take to get your reward from arc? Because I redeemed some lockbox keys and haven't received them [link] [comments] |
