I actually think Delta Quadrant may be my favorite arc... Posted: 05 May 2021 08:47 AM PDT I might be collecting downvotes with this, but here it goes... Yes, I love DS9. Yes, I miss Rene and Aron and I love the voice acting in the Gamma Quadrant arc. I think Cryptic really tried something new with Delta Rising, some of which frankly laid the groundwork for ViL. The episodes were longer, and for Voyager fans (of which I certainly am despite their seemingly endless supply of shuttles and a mysterious second cargo bay) it was a lovely reunion. For Neelix (never my favorite character, despite liking Ethan Phillips) to be reunited with Tuvok was something he never expected, and I really feel the emotion for him when he sees Mr Vulcan (seriously, how is it okay to call him that? I digress...) beam aboard his station. The missions are different than typical STO missions. Yea, they have a big combat component, but the attempt at giving us "choices" helps with the immersion. I also like the inclusion of the ziplining and repelling (even if no actual skill is involved) I was dreading Dust to Dust because I remembered the maze being a slog, but I enjoyed my playthrough this time. The whole "shoot things to activate the floor" is challenging, and maybe a little annoying, but it was nice to see them try something different. Ot made the game feel a bit like a tough 3D platformer. Finally, we're all waay too hard on the treatment of the Kobali story. Yes, the Kobali are allowing their ability to survive/thrive to trump their ethics, but its uneasy for the player and Kim the whole time. The Vaadwaur would be the obvious "good guy" in that war were it not for their aggressiveness and total lack of compassion. Even Eldax was shown do be a big dick, and he's the closest thing we have to a Vaadwaur ally. If the foil to the Kobali had been the Talaxians, or any other friendly DQ race, this would have been a largely diplomatic arc with the player clearly against the Kobali, but the Vaadwaur do attempt to commit genocide using biological weapons. That's a bit worse than letting centuries-old people die in stasis, then reviving them. The Kobali's solution at the end of Kobali Crisis is sensible (even if they immediately break it by not letting Kim know his double is being prepped for rebirth. Still more ethical than Tuvix's murder)...Allow their new allies to freely give their dead the gift of rebirth if it is desired. Hell, I'd probably take that deal. The Vaadwaur can have their dormant friends back if they stop shooting and agree to come to the table. In the meantime, the Kobali will maintain the stasis pods rather than let them fail. At that point, the Vaadwaur's own stubborn foolishness is why they don't get their people back. DQ is a great prelude to Iconian War and a pretty refreshing arc. I think it gets a bad rap based on how tough the Vaadwaur are compared to earlier enemies and how easy it is to join the anti-Kobali mob. I will say, its frustrating that Delta Recruits need to finish Kobali Crisis to get credit for the DQ arc when the episodes aren't even part of the journal. [link] [comments]

New Tholian Event - which TFO? Posted: 05 May 2021 08:14 AM PDT Which TFO does everyone prefer? Azures or Vault? What is the most efficient way to complete each one? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 May 2021 09:59 AM PDT I don't know how this happened but I keep getting this notivacation that someone I do not know has logged on or off, its the same username and they are not on my friendlist. They don't show up on the Friends and social tab. I have no clue who they are and why I'm getting notified when they log in or off, anyone know what this is? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 May 2021 02:58 PM PDT You know what's really uncalled for in this game? Private messaging people in game just to make fun of the ship you choose to purchase and fly. Great you don't like discovery ships. Good for you. I happen to like them and their weird designs. You don't need to message mid TFO to laugh at others. Really immature. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 May 2021 06:03 PM PDT They finally fixed Obisek's audio throughout the mission from the briefing to the little quips he does, and the Reman ships we save also have audio added in when they speak (during the remaster first look few days ago they didnt have audio yet). Just thought it was a nice touch. [link] [comments]

Issue with the Legendary D7 Intel Battlecruiser Posted: 04 May 2021 10:47 PM PDT I have been having a problem equipping the "Ominous Device" console on the Legendary D7, has anyone else been having this issue? [link] [comments]
Old LTS question on veteran boff Posted: 05 May 2021 12:16 AM PDT Hi I've recently came back after a long time away and am enjoying relearning the game. I bought my LTS pretty much at launch on PC and saw that I should have got a token for a veteran bridge officer when the game changed to a f2p. I can't for the life of me find it or recall if I ever received it, is this something you think I would be able to get restored by a ticket? Also I've some really old mails with items "stuck" in them like I don't seem to be able to pull the items out the mail, any ideas on how to sort that? [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 May 2021 08:04 PM PDT For those on console just a warning/heads up do not remove the Ominous Device from The Legendary D7 as you will not be able to re-equip it to the D7 as it doesn't meet the requirements for installation. My Fleet mates and I found out the hard way. It's not gone just in your inventory. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 May 2021 09:32 AM PDT After all of the fanfair of the new, revamped Azure Nebula....it's broken again. Only one one ship spawn at the very start, then nothing. All of the other spawnpoints were empty. Speaking with people on Redditchat, they experienced the same thing. At least it's prettier than it used to be. EDIT: interestingly, random ships are spawning in the middle of the map where you initially start now. No ships to rescue, though. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 May 2021 08:41 AM PDT Just did the Azure Nebula TFO on my main for the event and the second Rommy ship in we were supposed to see free was just not there. There was no way to progress the TFO so we all had to leave, and now wait to penalty. I thought this was fixed. :< fair warning to others [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 May 2021 05:05 PM PDT Initially I got excited thinking about GW, but then I realized that's not classified as a hold but a negative repel. Off the top of my head the only thing I can think of that would qualify is anything regarding a tractor beam. So the BOff ability, and something like pets with tractor beams and the Prior's World active ability. Obviously I know there are more, but aside from going through each ability/console manually I can't seem to find what I'm looking for on Google. Perhaps I'm just searching incorrectly, though, so I come to you for help. [link] [comments]

What is the reason for the price increase on the D7 bundle for console? Posted: 04 May 2021 07:45 AM PDT I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here because the horse isn't dead yet. Ambassador Kael posted in a thread here last week stating there would be something on Tuesday (which is now today 5.4.21) that would make us console players less upset about the discrepancy in advertised introductory pricing for the D7 bundle. I've linked the post to where he said this below, it was when someone was calling for civility. I'm not sure how this is supposed to make up for the higher price. Someone wanting this bundle may have earmarked zen for it since it was originally advertised as 50% off, which would match the precedent set with PC also having 50% off. So if you save up zen making smaller purchases it doesnt help you. It also doesnt helped if you purchased zen before hand in a large chunk and decided to save it for this bundle. If you are free to play and grind out the dil you get doubly screwed, since not only does the price in zen go up but the exchange rate for dil to zen usually corresponds as well. So if you thought you could make up the difference with dil on the day of the sale you will be disappointed. Yesterday the price of dil to zen on PS4 was 240-1. It's going higher as we speak. (yes I am aware the ratio is in the ballpark of 490-1+ on PC, that doesnt change the fact I just laid out). Unless there is something else being added to this bundle I am unaware of or the price as originally advertised is honored I will not be purchasing this bundle. I will also encourage my fleet mates and armada in both Federation and Klingon sides to also not purchase it either. ProfPlum I know was on here previously (he is now banned for speaking out) upset about it and he has a lot of influence on the largest fleets (Lethality/KDF) on both sides. I'm now joining in on his efforts hopefully with 8472/WoH. [link] [comments] |
