Tailor Colour Guide for the Colour Blind Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:50 AM PDT A few days ago I saw someone asking if there were any guides of the game's colour palettes for colour blind people. As nothing like that seems to exist, I decided to have my best go at making some. They're not perfect by any means and there's at least one more palette that I have not made a guide for due to the colours not being divided into rows making it very difficult to label clearly, but I hope they're still useful to some people. Each guide has a name but they're just titles I have made up based on when each palette might be used. You can cross reference the number of rows and columns with a palette in-game to make sure you're looking at the relevant guide. If anything is unclear or you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I apologise if any of the links do not work or there are any errors as I have never attempted something like this before. Happy space Barbie-ing! :) Guide 1 'Uniform' - https://i.redd.it/p8badkn3l7r41.png Guide 2 'Variation' - https://i.redd.it/i6glr7bej7r41.png Guide 3 'Metallic 1' - https://i.redd.it/vq5kg1qij7r41.png Guide 4 'Metallic 2' - https://i.redd.it/gmoo9pumj7r41.png Guide 5 'Hair' - https://i.redd.it/xuzdv4wpj7r41.png Guide 6 'Eyes' - https://i.redd.it/luexzjntj7r41.png Guide 7 'Ship' - https://i.redd.it/pdik2nzwj7r41.png (If you're looking for which colours to use for a specific uniform to get the 'canon' look, there are plenty of good guides available on the wiki!) Edit: spelling (now was a good time to learn the difference between 'pallet' and 'palette'...) [link] [comments]

PSA: The Borg's Roundabout Nerf to the TR-116 and Shield-Bypassing Abilities Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:27 AM PDT I keep seeing people being surprised by new Borg tricks, and it's obvious they missed the patch notes a month or so back that delivered a series of Borg buffs, and a roundabout nerf to the TR-116, melee weapons, and other abilities that can bypass shields. So here they are: Borg ground enemies have received multiple updates:
Bolded are the parts I'm talking about. The ambush transport seems to happen often when a Borg is losing HP but not shields. Now you know why the Borg are suddenly doing new stuff. And knowing is half the [link] [comments]

Endeavours: Collecting parts in FCD Event counts toward Harvest Materials (Ground) Posted: 06 Apr 2020 04:03 AM PDT Quite probably obvious to everybody except me, but I was pleasantly surprised to notice one of my endeavours completed when all I had done was run the re-enactment. Posted: 06 Apr 2020 02:34 AM PDT This is not really a rant, but maybe a hope that some developer roams this forum and see the post, and maybe even thinks, we should do something about these things. One can dream right? MMO-RPG's are nothing new to me, my first was DAOC, and Lineage 1, and therefore lacking information is something that I have grown up with. Maybe I'm getting old (omg), but god dang, I feel lost in Star Trek Online. I've spent more time online reading outdated post, wall of texts, watching outdated youtube videos just to get an idea of how things work. Things are severely bad explained in the game, and the WIKI does not really give you much information either. If it weren't because of Corona, and we are forced to take a vacation, I properly would have given up on this. The thing is, its actually a fun game, I like the concept of having ground combat and space combat. I love the references to Picard, Janeway ect. It makes the game so much more fun.For some reason, I get owned on the ground more than in space. I can't really figure out what I am missing, it's like the dodge mechanic does only work to move out of the red shit, and not really when an NPC throws a rock at you ect. Ground combat could really use some work. The market in it self is not really explained, yes you have shields, armor, and yes you can find vendors at space stations, but what about crafting, is there even crafting in the game, and how do I get better gear from other things than drops? I've seen the exchange, but I feel nowhere near ready or have the economy to buy anything. Is there a premium service to support the game or does everything come from selling ships? I haven't really been introduced to an option to not go free to play. I finally got to level 20( I had this char I started a while ago, that had all this bonus exp), and getting a new ship, was fine and all. But still missing more information about the different weapons and why I should pick beam over cannons, or can I make a decent overall torpedo boat? What about a long-ranged sniper? I have been reading about ships, and I can see there are more support friendly ships there and wondering if they are even used, or useful (like a healer?).There's soo many ships so if you actually consider buying one with real money you get instantly turned off, because figuring out what ship is good with what is confusing to me. Don't get me started with Officers, and training, I just recently after 2 hours of reading, figured out you can promote them, and upgrade their skills, but am now needing these training manuals to do so. I don't remember having to do this in the tutorial at all. Also, it was a pain figuring out that you actually need more bridge slots unlocked to fill in that last spot I hade empty on a ship. I had several officers waiting, but could not equip them because of no room. Now there might a way to get it in-game, but in pure frustration, I ended up buying two extra slots, which was the only way I could figure out to get the seat filled. I did this because of the sale but had it been full price. I'm not so sure I would have done so. I wasn't even sure if that would fix the problem. Also as a level 20 I finally figured out that you can send your other officers on a mission to get materials, that's cool. But did a miss something and is that even explained anywhere at all? There are so many guides and videos out there, and like I said reading them gives you info about things here and there, the "bad" part is, however, it might take you 30 min too read this entire wall of text and you don't really know if the things were written still applies. Now, this is true for every MMO that has survived for a long time, and maybe there's just not many people making new guides for this game. It was one of my problems, actually finding videos that were younger than 3-1 years old. Because of the "sale" I took the jump and bought a ship pack, I still don't know if I bought anything good, but I am having fun flying around in a Carrier type ship (or is it a dreadnaught?) with ships I can launch. Now I just need to find out what stuff is good for this ship. But since I read more than I played yesterday, today I think ill just play. The real money vendor market really needs more filters, so I can find the thing I want to look for. So again, it's not really a rant, but I can really understand if new players give up.There are so many places where you go, alright how do I do this, and do I want to spend 3 hours on the net trying to find the answer. Maybe I just haven't met the right people who could tell me all these things, but chat seems pretty dead or talking about politics and none game-related topics. So random guy invited me into his guild, not saying a word, so I'm in a "guild" I guess he/she gets something out of me being a member? [link] [comments]

Thank you Cryptic another AFK Pen due to bugged content Posted: 06 Apr 2020 05:07 AM PDT Thanks Cryptic I got another AFK Pen from the 1st contact day re-enactment because the interact option stopped functioning. I couldn't collect parts meaning I couldn't take them to the work station and then take part in the adjust parts section of the mission. [link] [comments]

Cool First contact day Easter egg Posted: 05 Apr 2020 07:05 PM PDT I found out in the FCD patrol mission you can hear Riker and Deanna arguing in the bar after you defeat the assimilated crewmen outside. [link] [comments]
pistols / rifles / assault -- what's the difference? Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:09 AM PDT Can someone either explain these to me in detail or point me to a resource that actually explains how these differ? I found one post claiming that pistols have a shorter range + higher DPS, while rifles have a longer range + lower DPS. If that is true, then what's the specialty of assault? With the new patrol out, I am giving ground combat a chance and really want to optimize my characters to fit my play style. But presently I don't get it. [link] [comments]

Need a little help with Aux2Batt Posted: 06 Apr 2020 07:35 AM PDT I have a real good full aux2bat setup going. But when I got the legacy bundle I noticed some of the ships will not be able fully set up aux2bat. My question is is there a way to make a half aux2bat work effectively? Thank you in advance for responses and stay safe everyone. [link] [comments]
