Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:16 AM PST Hey all I just wanted to say that this game has been such a fun ride so far! I don't remember the last time I had this much fun not knowing what I was doing in a game and just exploring it. I recently had to give my boyfriend some space to work on himself so we are taking some time apart and it hasn't been an easy go for me, but this game has really helped me lose myself in something new and fun! Thank you to the people who suggested this game and I hope to see some of you flying around space! [link] [comments]

Upd: I just had to think "at least no one blanket downvotes the comments, only posts". This is getting seriously out of hand. [link] [comments]

Thought Experiment: Reinvent Trek's Worst Episodes As STO Missions Posted: 06 Nov 2019 05:12 PM PST Episodes in Star Trek can be bad (or just overall disliked) for a number of reasons; but by recycling elements of them into a new adventure like a STO mission, perhaps they could be seen in a better light? Or otherwise lampooned or made into an enjoyable experience? Some examples: -TOS's "Spock's Brain": Revisit Sigma Draconis VI and encounter a reformed civilization, dealing with how the society has tried to improve, but some faction might be trying to revive "brain-stealing" for a nefarious purpose of Controller technology... -VOY's "Threshold": A rouge, potentially mad scientist is trying to revive Voyager's Warp-10 experiments, and "devolving" test subjects are showing up around the quadrant. Perhaps in trying to recreate the freak, insane circumstances, the scientist is creating some sort of alternative, more believable effect with disastrous results. -DS9's "Move Along Home": Renewed contact with the Wadi results in further, potentially risky use of the Chula game. Results in a situation where your captain's away team is abducted as players in the game (or you are stuck with them inside), and you have to play for your crew's fate... [link] [comments]

Minor EC Sink Idea - Unlocking all basic BOff skills at once Posted: 06 Nov 2019 04:26 PM PST It's not all that hard to go to a BOff trainer, buy a skill, then go to a specific BOff, find that skill level, then train the BOff. But you might not be somewhere with a BOff trainer. Or you might accidentally train the skill on the wrong BOff. Or... Anyway, what if the BOff skill trainers sold, on top of individual skills, an "Intensive Training Plan" module. Buy it once and it will train your BOff in all basic skills available from the trainer, leaving out lockbox, crafted, and other special skills. There could be one for the base careers, and one for each specialization. Say 150k EC for the base, 50-100k for the specializations - a bit more than buying all the skills individually, but you're paying for the convenience. One purchase, one assignment, and boom, you never have to visit a BOff trainer for that BOff again. Sure, this wouldn't be a great EC sink because once you've maxed out all your BOffs you have no reason to buy any more, but I could see it getting some EC out of the market just due to the pure convenience factor alone. Maybe give it the added benefit of not needing expertise, just for that extra kick. What's /r/STO think? [link] [comments]

TFO Queue Changes - Returning player question Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:39 AM PST So last time I played STO was around October 2018 due to work and life I've had a long break and since coming back I have created a Disco toon and started over which has been fun! (Guess i never noticed how burnt out on STO I was lol) So I've been leveling up the reps and getting gear but I've noticed that Advanace Queue's no longer seem to reward the upgrade materials like Borg Neural processors is this a bug? as the only other sources seem to be a 20 hour cool down project and elite queues that nobody does this seems like a really strange and punishing update or am I missing another source? Been running Cure and ISA on repeat and not got a single NP in days. [link] [comments]
Starfleet ATP Recruiting Message Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:52 AM PST Incoming Transmission Priority Message Source: Adm. Kira Solis, UFP, Starfleet, Earth Officers of the Federation,
The Galaxy is a strange and dangerous place. It is inadvisable to go alone.
I lead Starfleet ATP, or the Starfleet Advanced Training Program Fleet. The Academy taught you how to fly and basic skills to get you out into space and serving Starfleet and the Federation as fast as possible; our charter is to pick up where your Academy training left off. Whether you are a veteran of the Gamma Quadrant or fresh out of Spacedock, Starfleet ATP offers a friendly home to advance your skills. Starfleet ATP offers core performance expertise on subjects such as Bridge Officer training, Ship loadouts, gear access, and your own Captain skills.
Are there green-skinned alien women that won't leave you alone? Having trouble convincing that Romulan you just want to squeeze by the planetary shield and you mean no harm (yet)? Is there a superior being transporting you through time and space? Do terms like Cat1, Cat2, Calico Cat, DSE, TFO, etc., seem like an alien language? Do Tholians just tick you off? Is a timeline change imminent?
Starfleet ATP is a casual Federation fleet on Xbox that is dedicated to advancing knowledge of the game in its members. We have no donation requirements, but initially access may be restricted to prevent fleet jumpers/raiders. That said, if we have it to spare, no one has been denied access to items due to rank. We pride ourselves on being open and having a good time.
Starfleet ATP was founded on Xbox almost 3 years ago with the goal of helping players learn about STO, especially the things it does not teach well. Our Starbase level 5 is under construction, and our Shipyard is fully unlocked. We are a level 69 fleet. Additionally, we are part of a full Armada, with access to fleet stores, Dilithium discounts, and XP boosts to aid you. We have players across the US and in the UK, with many of our players possessing extensive knowledge of builds and game resource gathering.
We love to run missions, (R)TFOs, Events, and Battlezones as a team. Teaming up offers many advantages, like XP, build synergy, and good communication. We like to prepare captains to play well in Advanced difficulty TFOs, to speed their resource accumulation. We will explicitly ask you NOT to donate Dilithium or Energy Credits until your build is in good shape. Our goal is not to make you space-poor, it is to get you to a point where you can generate resources you can afford to donate.
I invite you to reach out to any member, or myself, using my GT or Reddit username: CaesarJefe. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 01:11 AM PST I saw some dual pistols on the exchange but they've gone leaving the single pistol now. The Jem'hadar ones that the boffs come equipped with. Where do you get the dual pistols from ? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 06:36 AM PST Am I right in assuming that Veteran status is no longer possible now that the game is free to play and no longer subscription based? Other than buying it out with a LTS, however. According to the Wiki: Republic Veteran📷 Republic Veteran is a player title for RRF characters and veteran reward awarded to players who have held an active and paid subscription to the game for 1000 days or more. Should that be something to be looked into by the Devs to open it up for everyone who have been playing for some time? Especially now that it is FTP? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2019 06:21 PM PST Is it still obtainable even though they moved the Temporal Ambassador mission? I finished the mission line and it didn't pop [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2019 04:47 PM PST Is doing advanced/elite pve queues a good way to test the survivability of my ship?or are there better ways?thoughts?cuz I wanna to put my my ships builds(I got multiple)to the test [link] [comments] |
