    Creating Story Missions Out of TFOs

    One thing I really like with Measure of Morality Part 2 was that the latter half of the mission is the Hive Ground Map with nearly every single mechanic from that TFO present and accounted for.

    This was a brilliant design choice for two reasons.

    The first is that it's a perfect way to reuse existing in-game assets, which would help to cut down on development time.

    The second is that the story mission acts as a tutorial for the TFO. This gives the players the ability to learn the basic mechanics of the TFO without having to just queue into it blindly.

    This is something I would love to see done with the more mechanic prone TFOs currently in game for both Space and Ground TFOs.

    Like the TFOs Counterpoint (Space) and Assault on Terok Nor (Ground).

    These are two TFOs filled with a decent amount of mechanics with no real way to learn how to do them, except to dive right in.

    For Counterpoint, that isn't as huge of a problem because it's a space map and with very few exceptions most pugs can manage their way through any space TFO with very little difficulty (on normal).

    Assault on Terok Nor, by comparison, is a pain in the neck to play through regardless of difficulty setting. That's because there is no opportunity to learn how the mechanics of this TFO work without running it. Which unless you already know how it works, you don't have time to learn because of how fast the trash mobs swarm you for the consoles on the promenade, and fighting Admiral Leeta is basically impossible.

    If these two TFOs were combined and turned into a brand new mission set during the Mirror Universe Arc of the game, Cryptic would kill two birds with one stone. They would create new story content (relatively cheaply) and all STO players would learn how to run the TFOs by playing the mission.

    Google Sheets STO Event Calendar

    Over time a few people have put together some great aids via Google Sheets, including an Event Calendar. I don't think that one is being updated anymore, so I've put together my own version. I'm looking for some brave souls to test it out, make sure it's working right, easy to use, and secured against misuse.

    Let me know if you want to help, including putting in some of the events from this year (it was deemed to tedious by my brain's management /s ).

    Last year I made this tweet, and if you click on the 3 likes you can see one of them was Aron Eisenberg. And it's true; playable Ferengi in this game have extremely limited customization options, and look very bad compared to the VIL Ferengi characters. So devs, how about an update to the visuals for playable Ferengi? They deserve better!

    I know devs are swamped. But it'd be nice if future Klingon revamps included single themed missions or Delta recruitment style easter eggs for existing storyline front episodes. The Klingons rarely have specific mentions for the Romulans, Mirrorverse, Borg, Temporal Cold War, AoY, etc.

    I was just messing around on a klingon character and looked up the nx equipment package on the exchange. I thought 'man thats alot of ec or lobi for not a ship..' Then thought maybe that's the way to do account unlucks for ALREADY purchased lobi ships etc. If you had to buy a lobi ship for lobi or ec on a character and then half buy it again to account unlock it, would you?

    It would be expensive but I sure would. I have several lobi/lockbox ships on a couple characters and have absolutely zero intention of buying them as a character unlock again. Thats maybe $80-90 for an account lock ship. Expensive yes, but maybe doable for some. Not a chance I'm spending $1000 to unlock 6 Iktomis.

    What would be the point I wonder to get single ship SINGLE time purchasers like myself to commit resources to that ship again. What would be the point for you?

    Experiencing immense loading times at character select and loading into game itself.

    Has anyone else experienced some crazy long load times during both character select screen and when loading into zones. It seems to bounce back and forth on me between loading perfectly fine like a normal day to taking about 1-5 minutes just to load a character when swapping. Also when loading between zones/maps it some times stalls for about 30 seconds to a full minute then finally either loads or straight up disconnects me from the servers.
