| Thank you Cryptic for not making the Legendary ships cheap knockoffs of their promo/box counterparts Posted: 24 Feb 2020 09:51 AM PST Having been graced by RNGesus with a Donnie FDC, I was a bit leery of these Legenday ships being purposefully built sub par so as not to negate the value of the promo ships. Holy shit. I haven't even gotten to using all of them and I already feel I have gotten my money's worth! First, the MW/Pilot Intrepid. Not a lockbox ship, but good lordy what an EPG Torp builder's dream come true! The option to slot a sixth sci console makes a world of difference and having a hangar of Delta Flyers... yeah love letter indeed! I cannot believe how fast I'm melting fleets of ships. Secondly, the MW Constitution... going with phaser build I have somehow created a ship more powerful than my FDC... in fact it's probably the most powerful beam boat I have managed to throw together. I haven't run numbers and I'm probably cutting myself short using a wide angle quantum torp, but I decided to go with a modern refit build like in the Bring Back Kirk trailer. This ship is so much fun to play now! And that's it. I haven't even gotten through the rest of the pack yet! If you're on the fence about the Legendary pack I mean... it's $200 for ten ships... most of them iconic from the shows. Even if you don't want all of them, you still get the admiralty cards. And who knows you might start an alt or something later. I know I'm considering it... Bottom line, worth every penny. Would buy again. [link] [comments] | ||

| Thoughts on the Universe Class Posted: 24 Feb 2020 02:04 AM PST Hi all, I'm considering getting the Heavy Dreadnought. I was going to get the Constitution FDC, but then the Legendary pack came out so I bought that, so I have all the bells and whistles from that already. I'm not a min max person so small differences in performance don't matter to me. I like to have the different hulls though and there's no ship like the Universe on that front. On the surface it looks very similar to the Legendary FDC stats wise. Is that a fair assessment? Am I missing something? [link] [comments] | ||

Anyway, Icheb is killed off in last week's episode of Picard. Whether Cryptic decides to keep him in game remains to be seen, but since he isn't any major part of our existing missions or story they may very well remove him. Returning recently, and I noticed I don't have access to some missions. For example, there was the one on Drazona station where you play with time, and then another with the cool space walk on DS9. | Suggestion: add kelvin D7s to the "Terminal Expanse" episode Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:46 PM PST Explanation: when "Terminal Expanse"(currently the only mission that takes place in the Kelvin timeline) was made, d4x(bird of prey) were the only kelvin timeline Klingon ships they had made. Since then they have also made the kelvin d7. So just to add a little variety, instead of fighting waves of only d4x's, why not add some of the d7s too? [link] [comments] | ||

(I chose Picard because DISCO Romulans are unavailable because of "lore" and it makes more sense to have them come from that show given they have a more prominent place in that era, plus, you could reuse a lot of the current Romulan stuff for a Picard era Rom, with just a few script changes) It just seems like such a weird thing, also, why don't you fold all of the current Federation "factions" into one, where upon selection of the Federation faction, you THEN select the era to play, instead of having them all show up on selection, looks less clunky, I mean, heck, if they do eventually plan on adding yet ANOTHER era for Starfleet down the line, it'll look even more disparaging when compared to just the two poor KDF and Rom races. | Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:55 PM PST So I'm a fleet admin and I'm online regularly if not daily. Not everybody has those opportunities; that thing called real life gets in the way. I was bummed out talking to a fleetmate who had the flu for several weeks this month and is now going to come up short getting the Alliance Battlecruiser. Personally, the event ship doesn't wow me and I could take it or leave it -- but I would have rather had a system in place to send bound items to a friend who never had the choice. Just like Reddit here has a system to send golds and silvers and other things to people, why cant there be something available to help out my friends in STO? I should have a choice to send my event tokens, my dilithium, or even small amounts of Zen to a friend if I'd like to. You can build in as many safeguards as you like: have to be in the same fleet... Have to be on their friends list... No donations over the daily 8000 dilithium limit... etc... I'd like to be able to do a good turn for my friends, instead of sending them the same crap cliche, "keep grinding and you'll get there." Some of us have already got there and have excess to give. Delta Alliance (The +5 engine power, Improved evasive manuvers and, +35 control x.) 2. Adapted MACO (25% torpedo damage, hull regeneration 3.5%, Auxiliary power.) 3. Nukara (5% energy weapon Bonus damage, +10 or more to shield power, weapons restart.). I plan to continue sailing the Andorian Pilot Chemish: I currently run 2x fore kinetic torpedoes, 2x aft Omni's and 3x fore beam arrays. I run power to Auxiliary system. My most recently purchased ships were the t6 temporal battlecruiser and temporal dreadnaught. I did play some of the Discovery missions where you go into the weird realm with Stamentz (sp?).
