Weekend Megathread - your weekendly "all Star Trek" thread

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 09:03 PM PST

    Welcome to the weekend!!

Against all odds, Saturday has finally arrived. Let's kick it off with another weekend "anything goes" thread.

On the weekends, we've been replacing the weekly question thread with a general Star Trek discussion thread. I love everyone's focus and commitment to keep talking about STO and by all means, continue to do so here.

But also know, you can use this as your outlet for everything Star Trek.

    Example 1

    Example B

    Example iii

    A few points of note:

    • In this thread, and this thread only, most of Rule 2 is suspended. Posted personal information is still not allowed at anytime within this community.

    • All other rules remain in place and will be enforced.

    • I am still aware weekendly is not a word.

    Happy chatting!

[Rant] Ship and personal injuries, why won't you people heal them?!

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:41 AM PST

Since I discovered what injuries were in the game, I've always carried both components and regenerators with me of at least 2 stacks of the minor and major. I keep getting in randoms with people that have a what seems like every injury you can get but refuse to get healed by an npc or using said items. Am I the only person that keeps components and regenerators on them to heal the injury as soon as I get it during respawn downtime?

Will I break galactic law if I don't hire?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 06:34 AM PST

I'm afraid that if I don't hire this person, I'll be breaking Federation law: Imgur

I mean, they can't help how they were born, but I don't know what constitutes a reasonable accommodation on a starship for an officer with no eyes, ears, brain, or head.

    Secure Hana System

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:51 AM PST

So I've been at this part in my Starfleet 2409 campaign for quite some time. When I was level 14 I tried to fight the IRW Rea, and could do virtually nothing, so I've been grinding and I'm currently level 27, and I still virtually no damage. Any thoughts?

I am sick and tired of Personal Endeavors appearing completed until a map change

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 02:42 PM PST

This was listed as fixed, but it wasn't, so I raised the issue.

After being reassured that it was totally fixed but observing that the bug was still occurring, I stated this discrepancy.

It's been nine months. Let's see what happens when I log in, shall we?

    After a map change:

Full album of every time I was irritated enough to screenshot this bug

Just like the landing page appearing too often and Admiralty assignments failing with 100% success chance (and permanently immune Mycelial bosses, but that event is over), this. Is. Not. Fixed.

[PC] "Help Tips Are: Off" but ...

... the option won't affect anything at all if there's a new feature. Every time there's a new feature with such a popup help window, I have to either go through them or close it on all alts.

    PC Rom-Fed looking for fleet

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 07:35 PM PST

Returned to the game after a couple of years away. Rolled a new character to level up since I didn't want to jump back in with a character already approaching 60 (I also wanted to play Fed-Eng instead of KDF-Tac, tbh). I'm approaching 30 atm (27 IIRC). I have a basic grasp on mechanics, ships, boffs and such, but I still have much to learn. I'm looking for an active, casual friendly fleet with an option to voice chat (Discord preferably, but I have TS3 as well). I'm on PC and I'm a Romulan allied with Starfleet. Thanks.

Terran Battlezone Reward change - bug or intentional?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 06:55 PM PST

You now have to choose between Terran marks and Temporal marks, instead of getting both. Is this part of the similar bug involving elite marks, or an intentional change?

Non-combat repair scenarios to add to patrol system

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 06:01 PM PST

The title mostly sums it up. I think that including some randomized fix-the-ship scenarios for the beta quadrant patrols would be a really good idea.

Opinions on which free Rom T5 ship to get... eng vs sci vs tac

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 10:52 PM PST

Lookkng for opinions on Ha'apax (eng) vs Ha'nom (sci) vs Ha'feh (tac)......

My Rom-Fed is a lvl 40 engineer, so she has lots of engineering skills already, and the Ha'apax comes with 2 eng BOFFs (CDR and LCDR) so that might overload me with engineering skills.

The Ha'nom has only one eng BOFF, but its tac BOFFS are only Lt and Ens. It has 2 sci BOFFs that can dish out lots of space magic, but I'm worried about its fragility. Though, sci ships are really fun to play. I've also read that on early Rom builds there is a lack of Sci in admiralty cards, so the Ha'nom might be preferable for this free ship on for any Rom toon.

Lastly, the Ha'feh has good tac BOFF spots, but again has 2 eng BOFFs and only 1 sci Lt BOFF.

What do you all think? I'm leaning toward Ha'nom, but I thought I'd throw this out there, collect some downvotes for my thread, and see what you folks think. I'm gonna head off to bed and hopefully when I wake up, I'll have an answer. Thanks.

I'm really gonna miss the T3 tactical warbird I had (Ar'kif). That thing was awesome, maneuverable (but not too maneuverable) and really fun to fight with.

    Malem Warbird is TINY!

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 11:55 PM PST

Don't know if this is a bug or not but purchased the rom starter pack which comes with the malem t6, on opening the ship and flying it, it's no bigger than a shuttle craft. Really disappointed.
