I keep losing my traits, Anyone else?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 06:59 AM PST

So I respeced, filled in all my traits (ground, space, starship..etc) saved the loadout and ran a few missions. All was good. Now I go to K-13 and buy a trait and BOFF and my traits are gone. Trying to load the loadout does nothing. Is this a bug? Anyone else having this issue? I seem to have a lot of issues with my build staying put.

Optimizing builds for comfort on consoles due to lack of buttons to trigger abilities

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 08:47 AM PST

Has there been any discussion about builds specifically for use on consoles where you don't have tons of keybinds for active abilities?

I play STO on PS4 and while you *can* access abilities by holding down a button and selecting them from the "wheel" it's a pain in the ass and easy to screw up and select the wrong thing in the heat of battle.

It seems like for "comfort" it would be best to have a few main abilities that are bound to your buttons so you can trigger them on demand and then the rest be either passive abilities or abilities that can safely be set to "auto".

Sure, it wouldn't be "max deeps", but with the jacked up PS4/Xbox controls, I doubt anyone is really doing high DPS with builds that rely on precise triggering of lots of abilities anyway.

Might already be posted- Has anyone else noticed some of the flavor text from NPCs when they use the four piece widening gyre set?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 10:21 PM PST

Dude. They call me out a few times when I use it. I've had elachi spawn, and then a klingon NPC is all like-

J'mpok will hear of this! Or some stuff.

    Help me? Thoughts, etc?

Should they move move Odo and Nog?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 05:46 PM PST

I've been watching a lot of DS9 lately, and and just got to the episode where Nog left for Starfleet. They had this touching moment where Jake and Nog say goodbye to their hangout spot on the upper level, where they hung out as kids.

The Nog memorial is currently in Quarks, talking to Odo(who also doesn't look right in there)

I think that Captain Nog should be standing by his old ledge, looking down at the Promenade. Odo, likewise should be in a security office somewhere.

    A much better tribute

    Anyway, that's my rant.

    Mudd's Choice Pack of Dread

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 09:26 AM PST

New Mudd pack for 14,750 Zen. Can choose any three:

    • Hur'q Vecrid Hive Dreadnought (T6) <-- Is this a typo? I cannot find this ship, but I do keep finding a VEDCRID CARRIER DREADNOUGHT: Same ship?
    • Tholian Tarantula Dreadnought (T6)
    • Temporal Paradox Dreadnought (T6)
    • [50x Pack] Master Keys
    • [2x Pack] 100% Off T6 Ship Coupons
    • [10x Pack] Ultimate Tech Upgrades

Question: Are these ships actually worth anything?

Is there a way to skip through the Nimbus missions as a Fed?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 08:59 AM PST

I only want to play the final one to get the Pirate Distress Call but I can't see a way to skip through the missions as it's not in the primary missions menu but off to the side in the 'incoming hails' menu. Any way to skip through them as I really can't be bothered to play the whole arc again?

Tour of the Galaxy (My route, actual equipment and recommendations for that)

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 07:02 PM PST

Hello guys, recently I answered I question to another reddit user for the Tour of Galaxy and I though that could be a good idea to share my experiences so far with that mission. Of course, like all the builds on the game, it'll require a reasonable amount of grind to reach the optimal level, even so, with my current build I can complete the Tour right before the timer expires, if you don't manage to do that, it's okay too, because by that point you'll have acquired at least 800k on credits so shall we get started?

First, the equipment. The recommended equipment to complete the Tour are the following ones: Adapted M.A.C.O. engines on the Epic level (to acquire them, you must first get the normal M.A.C.O. set from the Omega reputation to unlock the adapted version), the Gamma Synergistic Overcharged warp core from the Gamma reputation at tier 1 (that core modify your maximum warp factor to 15.46, or 22.94 if you have the Sector Space Travel Speed from the first selection node of the Science skilltree), that warp core have the best capabilities in the question about Slipstream speed and turn rate. And last, is the engineering console Polaric Modulator from the Delta Flight mission, at first sight, that console isn't great for any build out there, unless you want the bit of inertia for your Dreadnought ships (I'm talking about you Galaxy X) but what we must look here is the 100% Bonus turn rate during the Slipstream which can help massively on the time you need to do a sharp turn during the Tour, specially at high speeds.

Second, the ship and the traits. With the arrival of the Miracle Worker ships, the mission became much more easier when compared to before where players had to rely solely on the Vesta class or the Odyssey class. Now with the Cyclical Slipstream Drive, the possibility of completing the Tour without problems or tight timers is a achievable possibility even if your build isn't complete. So for starters, ANY Miracle worker ship will do the job perfectly, if you have one from the lockboxes, that will help you a lot, but if you (like me) doesn't have such ship so you must go to the most close source which is the Fleet. The Fleet miracle worker ships are pretty cheap on the Fleet credits, but they cost a lot of Fleet modules if you don't own the C-Store version of them. BUT, there's a source of free Fleet modules on your character and that is the tier 6 from your Reputations, like I said, to acquire the build on the optimal level you'll have to grind your reputations and do a lot of TFO's but you must persevere. Anyway, I talked about the ships but what about the traits? The traits are 2: one is the Lead Foot, it's a personal space trait which provide a 25% turn rate and 10% speed while on Slipstream (By the time I write that post, the cost for that one is 25 million credits and there's only two of them) and the second one is the starship trait Extensively Modified Warp Core that comes from the Legendary Voyager (that trait is for the people who brought the Legendary bundle but you can do fine if you don't have it). After all this, the game or a player can provide you with others minor boost to your Sector Space Travel Speed skill so if, by the end of the Tour, you feel the need to apply those boost you're welcome to do so, I do without any of them but that's only my preference. The following buffs are: Diplomatic Immunity and Raiding Party (those two can ONLY be applied by another player to you and only if said player had achieved the tier 4 on the Diplomatic/Marauder duty officer commendation) and lastly, the critical success from the duty officer mission "Assignment: Perform Antimatter Containment Leak Drills".

Well, after all that we reach the most important part, the optimal route. Of course, when you had the perfect build for that, the route doesn't matter much because your speed will be so high that travelling to one system to another will take seconds or a minute at most. But if you're in a mid-grade build like mine (A epic impulse engine *not the Adapted M.A.C.O.*, gamma core and the polaric modulator, all those things on the Shepherd ship) then you have to plan a good route for that, so the actual route I'm using is the following one: Teneebia > Nimbus > Vendor > Lirss > Alini > Vorn > Iconia > Gamma Eridon > Mylasa > New Romulus > Virinat > Argelius > Orion > Risa > Drozana Station > Archanis > Qo'noS > Khitomer > Pheben > Sanek > Traelus. After that you'll go to the Alpha quadrant through the Betazed sector, there you'll follow the route to: Betazed > Corwin > Deep Space 9 > Defera > Tzenkethi > Mizar > Chapal > Altair > Ferenginar > Breen > Arewath > Algira. Through that route and with my build I can complete the Tour on 14:40 approximately. I know it's a tight time but it works for me. Maybe that route is different from the ones you use so if you want to try that one, maybe you won't get the time right on the first or second time because your ship will be going very fast so a hint, when you reach the system, low the speed on your ship to 1/4 for a better turn rate and to avoid a collision against the star.

And that's it guys, it's my first time writing a Guide post so I hope you enjoy it, if not, feel free to post your doubts or things that you feel that are better than mine build or route. Stay safe everyone, have a wonderful day and live long and prosper.

Good Phaser Weapons for Science build

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 09:58 AM PST

Working on my science build and I'd like something that compliments the Lorca Ambition 3 Piece I have. Right now I'm running the altamid plasma omni in the rear but I feel like I could simplify it by running the same energy type. Any suggestions? Or should I just go full torpedo and space wizard on my Verne?

Fluidic antiproton beams, not as good as I thought?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 05:38 AM PST

So I spent millions of EC getting fluidic antiproton beams, stuck them on a ship that I previously had the normal antiproton beams on (which performed like a beast) , and to my surprise, these fluidic antiproton beams are really not performing anywhere near than I thought, even though it's stats are good on paper, it's very disappointing! Look, all my weapons on all my ships are re engineered to CritDx4 and I didn't do the fluidic weapons just yet because I wanna find out what you guys think of them? Any thoughts?

"Well Travelled" trait/Tour The Galaxy query.

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 02:55 PM PST

On the wiki, it says the trait can be attained through completing 8 sector blocks during the tour.
Is this still so? Or do you have to finish the whole thing?
Furthermore, I need some clarification. Does this apply to both the horizontal blocks and the vertical blocks or both/either?
Additionally, is there any extant info. on the best build/traits and MOST IMPORTANTLY the fastest route that's worth taking into consideration?

Is the go to still the Miracle worker(for QSS) MACO impulse/ Jemmie rep core and Polaric Modulator console with traits like Lead Footed, Extensively Modified Warpcore, etc?

Legendary Mirror Bundle vs Legendary Discovery Bundle

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 05:28 PM PST

Legendary Mirror Bundle vs Legendary Discovery Bundle

So as someone who purchased both, here are my thoughts (for whatever they're worth.) Obviously the mirror bundle is more bang for your buck at 60$ vs 120$...but this would also be true if they were evenly priced. While the discovery boffs are nice....thats it. I could care less about the level 65 token, and from what Ive heard, most feel the same bc its easy to make level 65. Its what comes after that takes so long. The dilthium and all is nice but is stuff you can either earn in game or get in any of the cheaper starter packs. In comparison, the mirror bundle comes with a unique ground and a unique space weapon (both of which I use)/ a leeta/mirror leeta boff/ mirror registrys/ a duty officer/ mirror uniforms and more.

The disco pack is double the price for what feels like maybe a fifth the content.

But what about the ships themselves?

All of the Shenzhou's Skins are gorgeous and the legendary dreadnought cruiser was a more than notable improvement to the Yamato. Both ships are powerful, even by legendary standards (I own the legendary bundle, yes I know I'm a whale, thank you). If the disco pack at the same price as the mirror, I'd recommend the Shenzhou in a heartbeat, she's a great, beautiful ship, with cool abilities....but the doubled prices kills it. I got it during the opening sale at 60$ and love her but 120$ is just too much for a ship in a f2p game with 30$ Gagarin.

I'd had hope that the mirror bundle would have set the standard for legendary ships going forward but unfortunately it appears not.

    Posted: 15 Nov 2020 03:27 PM PST

Hello. I just boosted an Engineer from 11 to 65 using the Discovery Boost, but I'm missing the Grace Under Fire trait. Does anyone know if I have to unlock it somewhere or is it just bugged?

    Help/tips for sci/torp build

    Posted: 16 Nov 2020 01:04 AM PST

Hi all iv never been overley great at games that have crazy meta builds and shiit lol. I usually do fairly well Through the main game and if need be copy a build i see online that is the closest to mine im a tac toon science ship I'm by no means struggling but I wouldn't mind making the build that much better i run gravity wells and control epg stuff tykens rift DRB grav torp pep torp dark matter my three biggest questions would be

-what sets should i be looking to grind from either the reputations or missions(not lobi or c store, exchange as i dont have a lot of credits yet)

    • any suggestions of good Engineering boffs skills that would benefit more from a science build or just stick to hull heals and shields buffs

    • and if any, some things that took you along time to learn you were doing wrong and limiting your build Thank you
