Uniforms adopted at the birth of the Federation

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 08:21 AM PDT

I recently posted a screenshot of a Daedalus class starship. There was some discussion about the era in which this ship served. It was pointed out that my assumption was in error, and the ship served very near the ENT era. Sincere thanks to those who corrected me as this is a theme build and I want to get it right. I have since adjusted the registry number.

I now have a fun creative problem...creating suitable uniforms for my crew. It seems reasonable to me to assume that the uniforms from ENT would be replaced by something new as the Daedalus was a Federation vessel, and I've been trying to come up with something that is a believable transition between ENT and "The Cage" (this disqualifies Discovery aesthetics, cause I`m old and inflexible, lol)

    Any ideas would be welcome!

Talk To Me About Torpedos (Specific Damage Types)

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 10:27 AM PDT

So I'm very close to deciding between plasma or polaron weapons for upgrading to epic and committing to them with vulnerability locators, etc. I can get within a few percentage point bonus damage for both. I'd been very narrowly leaning polaron because the morphogenic torpedo dealt polaron damage. And just now I discover that there's one torpedo of each energy type, which has led me to wonder why they are not BiS (at least based on STO League guides) for their respective energy type builds the way the morphogenic torpedo is for polaron.

Best I can figure is that torpedos account for very little of your damage on average in combination with the fact that +170% polaron or plasma damage also presumably does not add a ton to your overall damage. Check or hold?

Epic Admiralty Ship – Kobayashi Maru Freighter OR Tong’Duj Freighter

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 10:05 AM PDT

So did anyone else unlock the Epic Admiralty Ship – Kobayashi Maru Freighter OR Tong'Duj Freighter but it is missing in the Admiralty list? And before anyone asks, yes I can claim the Kobayashi Maru Freighter OR Tong'Duj Freighter as a playable ship now across all my charcters, but the associated Admiralty Card is missing across all my characters and I am unable to claim it.

How do you preview the 3d model of the Klingon freighter?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 10:08 AM PDT

On both my Fed and KDF characters it only shows the Koby 3d model (when you click preview on the event page). Where/how do you preview the 3d model of the klingon freighter?

How did you decide on your main character?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 09:34 AM PDT

    Hi all,

I'm in a dilemma (good problems I guess, lol)

TLDR: I have several alts and I'm struggling to really decide which should be my main character. One is a Discovery SF Vulcan that I love for the warp in effect. But also managed to score a T6 Lobi ship and the T6 Kelvin Battlecruiser. But the downside... being a science officer sucks...lol

I also have my first character, human Starfleet who I completed all of the story on. Got a lot of the cool additions from it and reaching caps in specializations.

I also have an engineer Vulcan TOS character who is cool but didn't have fun with later on.

Now I'm eyeing making a Tactical Discovery character and I also made a Tactical Romulan, cause I was just informed that they can join Starfleet. I started the tutorial and it feels different and fun.

    Now, I'm in a dilemma. I can't decide which I wanna main!!

My gut tells me that my science officer could be awesome but every time I look at that damn AOE heal skill not being used...it just bothers me. I like to utilize everything! (I'm also not looking forward to doing all the story missions again) Probably doesn't help that I got three of the alts to Fleet Admiral on a bonus XP event. But that has me wanting to ask:

How did you guys decide on your main characters? Did you make hella alts before choosing one? Did you find something? Or did you just put it all aside for one character.

Right now I went back to my Human Starfleet officer because he has everything except the cool warp in effect from Discovery characters. And the T6 Lobi ships.

    Targeting in PS4 (question)

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 09:26 AM PDT

While playing to hell with honor, I've tried to target the shield generators.

I have noticed other players just hit the generator itself. I can't figure out how they are doing this. As a beam boat, I can't control my targets.

Question: is there a way to prioritize targeting in ps4?

You probably accidentally sold a Construction Shuttle Wing 1 manual for 5k

    Posted: 04 Jun 2020 08:24 PM PDT

So, I just bought this Construction Shuttle Wing 1 manual for 5k, and you probably did not mean to sell it for that price.

So, if you can provide a screenshot of the in-game mail where I bought your manual for 5,000 energy credits, I'll mail you a key. Deal?

When do jem'hadar get access to zone chat?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 05:34 AM PDT

whenever my friend tries to talk in zone chat it tells him to compleate one of x arcs (none of which are jem arcs from what we can figure out), he's finished the jem'hadar tutorial only thing I can think of is it's a 20hour playtime restriction for new accounts like his. He does have a zen balance. When does he become eligible to be part of the founding of a fleet also?

    Bug reporting not reporting

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 05:18 AM PDT

When you submit a bug report, it used to flash up saying a ticket has been created. I just tried to report some tailor bugs but no flash up of a ticket so no idea if it is recorded. When you go back to search for your tickets they don't show - they never did of course, but it means I can't check if it did go through.

I just want to make sure that the bugs with the bug reporting is actually known to the devs. What with the bug reporting system itself maybe being bugged, I have to do it here. And if it isn't bugged and is working as intended, maybe the devs could make it look less bugged so you know your ticket has been received?

Though to be honest, I'm not sure if the bug reporting, for me at least, has ever worked. I've submitted plenty of tickets in the past about things that have remained bugged for years until someone mentions it on Reddit and a dev sees it and goes fixes it the next day. Which is impressive when they do that, but does that mean the bug reports never went through or aren't read?

I'm very confused as to whether I should actually bother putting in bug reports through their ticket system or if I should just post pictures on reddit and hope a dev comes across it.

What keeps you interested in STO?

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 04:46 AM PDT

I recently stopped playing a couple months ago having been an everyday player for hours on end for about a year(been playing since launch). I really feel like everything in the game is just one grind after another and the "endgame" or lack there of, content is severely lacking or only there for the reputation gear grind.

It seems like most of the content added is just more ships to buy to grind that said content again and again. What keeps you guys going in STO? I'm a lifelong Trekkie but I feel PWE/Cryptic just kind of preys on that being a thing to keep people coming back and spending $ on underdeveloped content.

VIL was good but they haven't really added anything BIG since Delta Rising. The Iconian war was excellent as well but that was eons ago, will they ever add epic mission arcs like that again or because of new shows being out will they just continue to add smaller one off content?
