POLL: Has Crafting Become A Dying Art In STO? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 02:37 AM PDT When I joined STO over 5 years ago, I was a typical noob. Just a Star Trek fan looking for new material to enjoy. Not being a gamer at all, I quickly learned you need plenty of resources to get ahead in this game -- but if you grind smartly -- you didn't have to go broke in real life to enjoy STO. When I learned I could actually make gear, fine tune it, and then sell my wares, the game completely changed for me. Now I could take a skill and other players would reward those efforts so they didn't have to build premium items themselves -- like a business. I'm not going to lie and say I reached "space rich" status without getting lucky and scoring a ship or 2 which I then sold too. But I will say crafting excellent items has kept my EC balance healthy. Now comes this weekend, an upgrade weekend. When I look at what items are fetching the best prices these days, I see it's mostly items exclusive to lock boxes. Specialty weapons have flooded the market and rendered almost everything a player can make themselves ancient tech. The incentive to use the R&D system because there's a way to prosper from it seems nearly gone. The self-made EC millionaire is now being replaced with endgame easy-way-out packs in the c-store. If you still need more EC, it seems you need to first pay up for some keys and lock boxes to find the popular gear in 2020. Is there anyone else out there who used to craft, but the thrill is nearly gone? [link] [comments]
Klingon Tong'Duj Freighter calls in wrong Security Transport Posted: 11 Jun 2020 11:52 PM PDT When the Klingon Tong'Duj Freighter uses the "Call Security Transport" ability in Sector Space, a Federation Security Transport arrives, that can not be interacted with. Maybe the Devs have forgotten to change the Faction after having copy-pasted the data of the Kobayashi Maru? EDIT: If this has already been reported, then I terribly sorry and this post may be deleted. [link] [comments]

Information about Eaglemoss Star Trek Online Collection Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:21 AM PDT Just got my Gagarin and Chimera. Beautiful models! The magazines sadly just come in the smaller size (like the Discovery collection) but come with ship and STO lore infos. Both ships included a "50% off T6 Zen Store ship" coupon! Definatly worth the price! Following issues... Issue 3 - U.S.S. Andromeda (NCC-92100) Issue 4 - I.K.S. Bortas'qu Issue 5 - U.S.S. Buran (NCC-96400) Issue 6 - R.R.W. Vastam Issue 7 - U.S.S. Pathfinder (NCC-97600) Issue 8 - Jem'Hadar Vanguard Carrier Issue 9 - U.S.S. Europa (NCC-97640) Issue 10 - I.K.S. Mogh Issue 11 - U.S.S. Avenger (NCC-97500) [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:26 AM PDT So I can't seem to find any info. Do the Vanguard wingmen count as Hangar pets for things that give bonuses to Hangar pets? Like Swarmer Matrix Console, or the skill tree bonuses that enhance pets? [link] [comments]

Question on new Legendary BoP and enhanced battle cloaks in general Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:36 AM PDT So the new trait gives torpedo high yield 3 on decloak... How does that work with enhanced battle clock? Since the enhanced cloak decloaks you, fires a torpedo and then cloaks you again, does that count as an activation? Similarly, the trait concealed repairs, it said you get healed when you cloak. How does THAT work with enhanced battle cloak? Thanks everyone [link] [comments]
Idea: in game gathering next weekend to promote a better world (feedback requested) Posted: 12 Jun 2020 07:22 AM PDT We live in troubled times. Many of us play this game to escape from the problems we have in RL, whether they are personal to us specifically or society in general. But sometimes we can do something in game to make a positive statement about things outside the game, and I'd like to suggest we (or at least those interested; if you aren't, that's ok!) do so next weekend(June 19-21).
This idea is not fully formed; that's why I'm requesting feedback and would like to post a more detailed 'plan' later in the week. But for now there are 2 main parts to the idea:
Part 1: Players gather somewhere (maybe DS9) in a show of solidarity and IDIC. This gathering is not meant to promote any political agenda, just a show of unity in a time when a lot of folks are divided. Maybe we could have some kind of costume contest if some people are interested in donating prizes.
Part 2: We keep track of the number of people (by instances) and challenge Cryptic to take some kind of positive action based on those numbers. Notice I said "challenge" (as in Pike's line to Kirk in ST09 'I dare you to do better'). This is NOT any kind of 'threat'(as in 'do what we want or else'), it's basically just a request to notice our gathering and do something positive in response. What they choose to do (if anything) is up to them.
Like I said; it's not a fully formed idea yet and I'd like to see if others are interested and have any feedback. Specifically I'd like to hear from fleet leaders who might be able to get the word out to people who don't read reddit.
Thanks for your consideration!
PS: up/downvotes are also feedback, so if this is downvoted away I'll just accept that as (most) people aren't interested in this, and that's ok too. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Jun 2020 07:28 PM PDT For me it's the Son'a hangar pets. These are mean little shuttles that are both extremely good but also unique in their abilities, being the only hangar pet with a passive drain. The yellow isolytic plasma beams also really stand out in terms of hangar pet equipment. I think they're the only hangar pet with yellow weapons. I sent in a support request asking that they be made equippable on any ship, and they said no. I'd like to see that changed, especially since there's a precedent to do so. Plus the Son'a Collector is underwhelming as a promo ship, so this would be a very nice bonus. [link] [comments]
PSA: Check your exchange sales twice before posting Posted: 11 Jun 2020 11:43 AM PDT I must have broke some important rule of acquisition. Just sold a D7 Miracle worker for 185,000,000 EC instead of 1,185,000,000 EC. sigh. I need more sleep. Fortunately, it's just a game, right? UPDATE: buyer traded back! Kind souls in the galaxy! I guess the need for money really has been eliminated in the future! [link] [comments]
Drain Infection work with polaron proc? Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:57 PM PDT as the title states. I keep getting conflicting advice on this thing. Does it work off polaron procs? Doing a Jem type build and trying to figure out where to place my points. If it does I planned on using the dom polaron weapons (using the Jem Lifetime destroyer). [link] [comments]

Mr. Legeus (Purple Doff Tech ) Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:08 AM PDT https://sto.gamepedia.com/Legeus Does this DOFF function the same for Aux2Batt cooldown for all enemies or only Elachi? I picked him up for my Aux2Batt build. I don't need the Elachie damage bonus, but want to make sure he will function the same for Aux2Batt Cooldown as the purple B'Tran techs. Thanks. Posted: 11 Jun 2020 10:39 PM PDT Watched the trailer for star trek legacy (that was posted on twitter in January) and something confused me, it touts the federation as the only ones who want peace and stability in the galaxy. It goes as far as to say the Romulans want revenge for the destruction of their homeworld, far as I know from the story arcs even Sela was in to stop the iconians. What am I missing?
